Thank you. They are informative because they are authentic. Veterans and survivors telling their own stories.

Frightening how quickly Kenya and Uganda have forgotten this history. Doomed to repeat it.

Yes. Our generation will do it. They will buy God again then he will colonize us again

Am learning people from the mountain fought for our freedom and especially people from Nyeri will always be proud from Nyeri👍
@maumauchronicles42967 ай бұрын
Nyeri people did their part. But so did the people of Murang'a, Meru, Embu, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Nairobi, Laikipia, Machakos and Narok, not mention that other parts of the country had their moments of resistance to colonial rule. But the greatest effort to rid this country of the colonizers shall remain the Mau Mau war.

Good afternoon, my name is George Githaiga and I live with my grandmother and grandfather both born in 1940 and 1938 respectively and another elderly woman than them who sings mau mau songs. I wanted to inform them to you because I believe they can be of help towards this course of informing the next generation. Location is Nyeri, Wamagana.

Hallo Mau Mau chronicles, could you find content on how the maumau oath taking took place? It would be amazing
@maumauchronicles4296 Жыл бұрын
Most veterans are not willing to reveal some details of the oath but some have painted a broad picture of what used to happen. What is clear is that the oath bound people together. It was effective.

thanks for the good work.Have you done ndu'ngu muru wa gicheru's story?he features in a certain kikuyu song that he used to shoot down the enemy's planes.

Ndungu Gicheru was a true hero and we would love to work on his profile. If you are in touch with his son who used to be in Atlanta, please ask him to get in touch using themaumauchronicles@gmail.com. We would like to interview him.

Wow! Thank You!! ..... What about "our" KiKamba, WaKamba breathren and sistren? re: Gikuyu, Meru, Embu and ??????
@maumauchronicles4296 Жыл бұрын
There was participation by the Kamba in the Mau Mau movement. We are working on a documentary about it. It must be understood however that colonialists worked very hard to divide a wedge between the Kikuyu and the Kamba for they feared the political juggernaut that would result if there was cooperation between the two.

Funny you should mention that. These veterans have great genes! Many have lived long lives and are still going strong. Whilte others may be blessed with material wealth, they are blessed with good long lives.
