You guys are so awesome! My wife and I have lived aboard and cruised our 34’ sailboat for nine years now. And it’s absolutely right; boat life isn’t all ‘sunshine and daisies.’ We say, ‘it’s not all pretty sunsets and pina coladas.’ Love the music too! Glad the engine is sorted out. We had a similar issue when a hose came out of the support bracket and was sliced open by the alternator belt. Ugh. I’m definitely a new follower!

I'm sure you'll get the engine fixed soon. These things make us stronger. Love the vlog and the music is beautiful. Get yourself a knife or saw to cut things off the prop sometimes it's the only way to get it off. Sometimes a quick blast in reverse can cleat it also

I really hope you got your engine sorted, I would invest in some pond gloves for your weed hatch they really help with keeping your arm dry. I can understand you panicking when you're having problems and you're on your own. Hopefully things will get sorted on the boat and you can worry less.😊

Dear Izzie and Ciara So glad to hear that Lavender's engine problems were fixed quickly and at a minimal expense. Recently Ryan and Chloe unexpectedly had to have Ratae's hull over plated at a formidable cost. As you know that there may be a head gasket replacement required down the road and that Lavender will need to have her hull blacked I hope you have a slush fund started for these two expenses. Sadly I missed you in London, it would have been fun to meet up. Ciara never be scared while Lavender carries you. Should you feel that way, close your eyes and give her a hug. Hi you three, London was busy and I managed to accomplish all that had to be. Since then I have been to Hastings and found what needed to be found there amongst the Green Man celebrations. Then it was off to Colchester to visit friends and places. Today I landed in Norwich where I hope to meet up with a 2nd Cousin for a week. OMG you've really been through a lot with your engine. Copper pipe leak! Been there, done that. Our coolant leak was caused by a copper pipe vibing on the bulkhead. This was caused by failing engine mounts, so look at how yours are doing. When one of ours failed the vibration caused a couple of other things to fall apart. The worst thing we've had round the propeller was a fender and half a hook, which took 30 minutes to unravel. We are pretty sure we picked it up in a lock as we do a thorough weedhatch and engine check before every cruise.

Oh bless you, of course its worrying and stressful dealing with ingress of water, its bad enough in a house but could be a disaster on a boat. You are entitled to be worried as you dealt with it on your own. I am so pleased it wasn't too disastrous. Please please please get yourselves a pair of rubber gauntlet gloves. Any water you are putting your hands/arms into will be full of all kinds of nasty sh*t, please protect yourselves. A worrying but enjoyable vlog nevertheless. Is there anything around your weed hatch or is it metal on metal? Just a thought about a rubber strip or a grease to stop the hatch rusting together again.

You certainly have had your share of scary moments there! It seems you've been blessed with two issues: first is transmission oil leak, and second is engine coolant leak. Good that you caught the second one before the engine got *too* hot, as that is what does for the you-know-what-g@$k3t! (Like 'The Scottish Play' - not daring to say it out loud😆) I do hope that once that copper pipe is repaired and the rubber hose replaced that will be an end to it. If there's anything else I'm sure the service you have booked in a couple of weeks will identify it before it becomes a potential catastrophe while cruising. I'd have been more concerned about the oil leak, I think, but if it was just around the oil cooler maybe it's just one of those things and all OK once the bolts are retightened. Someone else commenting here said about engine mounts getting a bit worn, and that would make sense. They get sloppy and the engine wobbles and bits shake themselves loose! Before we moved house a little while ago we had a french neighbour who was selling a car of a type known (generically) to have certain engine issues. Whenever anyone phoned to enquire about it he couldn't understand why they would always ask him about the 'egg-basket'. His francophone ear had misheard their concern over that particular sealing gizmo. Whenever I have had a worry about the part on my own (car) engine, I just think 'egg-basket' instead and somehow it all seems not quite so worrying 😂 Hope it works for you too! As always, just love the beautiful music and gorgeous singing ❤ I could watch an entire episode of just cruising and music! Is your cheery 'Hello!' at the beginning of each vlog an interval of a minor third? I can't quite pick it! Sending coffees ☕☕ And an egg-basket 😂
