I often take for granted being from the UK and these kinds of videos always centre me - the amount of heritage and history we have around us is actually astounding. @@JeannieBASMR I absolutely loved both ❤Yorkshire has a special place in my heart, because I was born there, then moved back there in my mid-30s - and I will probably go to live back there again, eventually, because once it's worked its magic on you, nowhere else is quite the same. But living just outside Bath for six years in my mid-late 20s was also a fabulous experience - and now, after a further 10 years living in Germany, I've just moved to The Hague - which is another gorgeous place, full of wonderful art and architecture... so overall, I've been exceptionally lucky :)

I was born in England and never gave it a thought growing up. That changed when I got a job that involves a lot of overseas travel to the USA, Far east, Middle East. That experience of real life abroad, (not tourist havens but the real industrial cities, towns and villages where 'ordinary' folk live and work) taught me how much to value this wonderful country.

But what About the people like me who have admired England since the age of 14 and always considered me a british and after 32 years I have never been able to go abroad for no job, no studies and I will never have the amount of money to see England , I feel totally destroyed to see people like this person who can afford a travel anytime they want and Me who's been thinking about England more than 30 years can't even pay for a taxi driver , Life is very cruel and unfair 💔
@robertelwell93602 ай бұрын
How do you know this lady and her husband can "afford to travel anytime they want"? They probably worked hard, saved their money and planned this trip. Just like anybody does who wants to travel. People who are born rich and spolied don't have any enthusiasm like this lady does, so she's not in that category. If you really want to come to England, get a job and save your money. Start at the bottom if needed, there's no shame in being a cleaner. And don't waste your money on a taxi get the bus or walk. Best of luck fella, and if you do ever get to England, lose the attitude cos we've got a lot of great ways of losing it for you otherwise.

Thanks for the video which was REALLY very good. I'm from a North Yorkshire village which is usually peaceful (maybe not tonight which is November 5th and therefore Bonfire Night with fireworks etc) and pleasant. I was at Cambridge University half a lifetime ago and think if you had been able to go around some of the Colleges (as well as punting down the Cam), if you'd been able to visit the Botanical Gardens, Great St Mary's Church and some of the pubs (like The Eagle in the city centre where WW2 British & American airmen left their names on the ceiling using the flames from their cigarette lighters, and which was a favourite den of some of the team of DNA discovering scientists), you'd have had enough for a day or two. Beautiful architecture including Kings College Chapel which is like it's own cathedral, and history. York is excellent though. And if you return to the UK, look up and/or visit: Whitby, Ripon & Fountains Abbey, North Yorks Moors & its steam heritage railway. The Yorkshire Dales and Haworth (of the Brontë sisters fame). If you go to Scotland everyone will tell you about the architecture & history of Edinburgh but don't overlook Stirling (and its castle which many prefer to Edinburgh) and the cultural scene in Glasgow, but the Highlands, particularly the North West Highlands, are STUNNING. Orkney off the North Coast is crammed full of archaeological wonders including some stone circles started before Stonehenge - visit the Ring of Brodgar, the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Bronze Age village of Skara Brae (best in Europe) unearthed by a storm from the covering sand dunes which had lain over it, and the wonder of Maes Howe. Just look them up online if you are interested but a visit will not disappoint. Northumberland is s full of castles, market towns and, surprisingly, some wonderful sandy beaches and more fish+chips than anyone could need. Best of luck and thanks again for the video.

Oh Jeannie ❤ Thank you so much for this video. I live in Yorkshire and, I’m sorry to say, I forget just how lovely a place it is and take living here for granted. Thank you for helping me to rediscover the beauty of Yorkshire (and England more widely) through your eyes. I’m so glad you had a great visit; please hurry back to England soon; England is better for having you and your husband here!

Enjoyed your video. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Visit the North Yorks Moors railway, Grosmont to Pickering steam trains from the past about 25 miles long. Also Saltburn with its Funicula up to Durham Cathedral and then into Northumberland to Bamburgh Castle. Look forward to your next video.

You know, as someone who lives in an ancient stone town in England you forget how beautiful it is when you are here every day. Thanks for the refreshing insight and great vlog :) I'll definitely admire my country more than I do. Also sorry about the algorithm. I will admit I've missed several videos from several channels because of it.

What a super video! Your amazing voice and enthusiam are such balm for any troubled soul! So lovely to see you enjoying our "green and pleasant land" - you went to some great places! You definitely need to go to the Lake District, it's stunning. As is Scotland. And maybe a trip to Cornwall - some beautiful places like St Michael's Mount and beaches down there, maybe seeing the Jurassic Coast, Corfe Castle and stopping off in Lyme Regis on the way - famous for its Cobb that Meryl Streep stood on in 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' film...

Cant wait to come back to this later tonight and so glad to see you enjoying the uk. Im originally from the very north of England but lived in Scotland since childhood. I hope in the future you might be able to see a bit of Scotland :). It definitely had a different type of charm than the south of England but its very beautiful too i think, especially the west coast and the Hebrides (I say with some bias). Would also be a good start point if you wanted to venture back down to England to see the lake district (my favourite part of England, and probably the bit most like rural scotland haha).

Don't know why this appeared on my KZbin list but I am so glad it did. At home recovering from hip replacement surgery and worrying about work, life and a loved one going through a tough time. The music you chose, your voice and the images are just what I need today to relax me, and settle my soul. Born and raised in the UK to Caribbean parents (Antigua), you just reminded me of places I haven't visited for a long time. Time to go again 😊🙏🏿🇦🇬🇬🇧 Thank you 😊🙏🏿
