Canada is a beautiful place. I am grateful that this is only a 3.5h drive from where I live. You must come back when forest fire smoke doesn't dull down the views. If you do return to Jasper, you should go up to Edith Cavell!! It is a fantastic experience that will be remembered for a lifetime! FYI (maybe leave the drone at home. It is illegal in national parks, and the fine is $25,000!! Eek!! ) They do actually charge people. For anyone asking when to go: high season is basically from the May long weekend through the labour day weekend. If you have kids, I would book later in the summer when the sun sets at a more reasonable hour
@ChrissaTravels9 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thank you so much for the recommendations and for watching! I’ll have to keep that in mind if we ever do plan a return trip. We loved Jasper, so I’ll make sure to keep a note about Edith Cave. Sounds right up my alley! We didn’t bring a drone. What you may have thought were drone shots were actually coming from our Insta360 X3 on an invisible selfie stick. You can see me carrying it in the background of several shots like at 12:47 , 21:07 and at 20:40 you can see it in the reflection of the skywalk. We do love that it gives you drone-like shots…without a drone.

Hi, a random question from a clueless Aussie. You chose a Tesla as your drive car, how was the charging stations and were you concerned with the mileage travelled each day? Beautiful video and images from this Canada trip, you have helped us decide on an itinerary.
@ChrissaTravels8 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoyed the video! When we picked up the Tesla, our Hertz agent told us that there was a super charger in Canmore and then another one in Jasper. So, as long as we had it fully charged before heading up the Icefields Parkway that we’d be fine. Plus, when you put in your destination in the Navigation system it told you how much of a charge you would have left by the time you made it to your destination. So, we knew if we had enough charge to make it there and back or if we had to top it off. Overall, we didn’t have any trouble! ☺️ I hope you have an incredible trip!!

@@ChrissaTravels great thanks! I saw in the video it was hard to secure a spot, so I’m assuming there is no reservation. Two remaining questions: 1 - is there a fee in this parking lot you guys used? 2 - to get the shuttle to lake Moraine did you drive to park and ride and got a shuttle from there? Tks again :)
@ChrissaTravels9 ай бұрын
@@gallegospam yep! There was a fee. I think it was $15-20? I can’t quite remember, so don’t quote me on that. And yes, we had noon reservations on the park and ride, so we just headed to the park and ride parking lot afterwards, and took the bus to Morraine Lake

Where did you stay on day - 2 ? Did you go back to Pine Bungalows?

Awesome video 🙏thank you for sharing, what camera did you use?

Thank you so much! We used several cameras on this trip. Mostly the Insta360 X3, the Insta360 Go, DJI Pocket 2, a couple of iPhones, as well as a Canon EOS R.

Great video. Sadly, 1/3 of town of Jasper was just destroyed in a wildfire.

Beautiful trip. Do you had to do any advance booking? e.g. Gabdola or Shuttle etc.?
@ChrissaTravels5 ай бұрын
Hi there! Yes, we had advanced tickets for the gondola and the Moraine Lake shuttle since there was limited space on both!

great video! I will be following your itinerary. Just want to ask if you guys didn't have a hard time charging your Tesla going to Jasper and back. I am thinking of renting a Tesla but just want to make sure charging on the way will not be a hassle. Thank you again for your wonderful video.

Hi there! Thank you so much! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the video. We didn't have any issues with the Tesla on our trip. When we picked it up, our Hertz agent told us that there is a super charger in Canmore and another one in Jasper. There are a few chargers in Banff, but they're really, really slow and difficult to get to. When you put in your destination, it'll tell you how much charge you'll have by the time you get there. So, you can know if you have enough charge to make it to your destination or not or if you have to charge it up. But, as long as you have it fully charged in Canmore on the way up to Jasper, and fully charged before you leave Jasper, you'll be fine! :)

Thank you for the input. I have decided to rent the Tesla and will be following most of your itinerary. It’s unfortunate that we’ll only be there for 5 nights so I have to prune the stops.

How was the charging spots ? Is there enough superchargers along the trip ? (Range anxiety), thank you !

Hi there! I can totally understand the feeling! We worried about the same thing. But our Hertz agent let us know that there is a super charger in Canmore and another one in Jasper. As long as we were fully charged when we made our way up the icefields parkway we would be fine! We didn’t have any issues while we were there! I hope you have an incredible time!!

Hi there! Thank you so much! We visited the very last week of August and traveled roughly about 900 km. I hope that helps!

This would be my dream family vacation. How much did you spent on rooms ?
@ChrissaTravels9 ай бұрын
I hope you get the chance to go! Our room budget was $250-350 per night. A lot of our rooms we booked with travel points through our credit card, so we didn’t pay for them out of pocket. But, I looked up the cost for them later, and they ranged in the $250-350 area.
