Thank you for sharing your experience. I really like that place where this was filmed. As a single I don't want to be isolated in a house on my own, but I also wouldn't like an apartment where I'm elbow to elbow with everyone else. This looks ideal--separate little houses within a spacious compound.

Their little community is 6 houses with a gated entry. Each person has a gate opener. It's also ideal to have neighbors but not too close. Currently, there is a 1 bedroom available in this neighborhood for $475. It's fully furnished, includes a washer and dryer, all pots, pans,dishes, sheets towels, etc and all utilities includes too. You really can live better for less in Panama!

Thanks so much for your tip on using lotion four times a day on your hands before getting your fingerprints done. As a nurse of 40 years they have trouble getting my fingerprints also. I also appreciate how your time there has improved your health so much. I'm so excited about taking the tour on March 6th and staying 3 more weeks in Boquete. I hope we can meet then!

Thanks Pamela. Most people who moved to Panama report weight loss and much improved health. Many people are able to get off most, if not all, medications. Panama is good for your health too!

Awesome video!!! Loved how Janet explained clearly about the accessibility issues as well as the clothing for Les. I'm female and 6ft tall and have trouble finding pants here on the East Coast!. All in all, I thought this video was very helpful. Enjoyed the comments about the clothes sizes. I haven't heard a woman refer to herself as fluffy in a while! In Argentina, women are so thin, it's impossible to find larger sizes for them in stores. It's like the entire country is anorexic. Also useful was the comment that you can get by without a car if you need to.

This is really a very good video with helpful tidbits. For example, the noise of the rain on a metal roof during wet season. I wouldn’t have thought of that. I’m taking the relocation tour next year, God willing and like that their home allows them space from neighbors, yet isn’t isolated.

Lol. I just had the fingerprinting experience 2 weeks ago in the states as I will be working at the VA now. The lady was getting frustrated with me and told me I was failing this portion of the new hire process miserably like I was doing it wrong. She finally gloved up and rolled a couple of my fingers herself and had just as much trouble. I felt vindicated😆 I’ll try to remember the lotion tip for next time! Can’t wait to visit Panama toward the end of the year.

You need fingerprints to get a FBI criminal report. You need the FBI criminal report to get a Visa to live in Panama. Tourists can only stay for 6 months.

In all of these vids on Boquete not one person mentions water quality. Google around. The info is available and the verdict is mixed. The water is from mountain springs and most people say they have had no problem. But some say they would not drink the local water from the tap and they don't trust the water in local restaurants.

It would be easy to move to Panama. But there are not many jobs available for foreigners... and the pay is much lower in Panama.

It is customary in Latin American countries to have bars on your windows. Some houses have them, some don't. Panamanians have told me it is so you can have your windows open all day and night or even when you are away from home but never worry about someone coming in. There is almost NO CRIME in the town where Les and Janet live perhaps because of this proactive approach

In Central America, bars don't have the same negative connotation that they do in the U.S. In the U.S., when you see a house with cameras, you think they are rich. The same is true in poorer countries for bars.

@@JustineTX375 On my block three more houses added bars because of theft (I was one) that is a fact. Bars are expensive for Panameños, which is why they didn't have them before. You will see barb and concertina wire in some places. Crime is worse elsewhere in Panama, but it does exist here. Regarding the Dutch girls, Juan Perea y Monsuwe has youtube videos as recent as a few days ago regarding new findings and theory (not at all what the gov says, and VERY disturbing).

Why are there bars on the windows? Do you have to fly back to the USA every 6 months to keep your citizenship and passport valid?

Hi Carl, In South America ( I am a Canadian living in Colombia since 2017) they use fingerprinting for many different things, such as a gym membership, country visa etc. Crime is something you need to concern yourself with, but taking the necessary precautions with help along that way. It really boils down to attitude. If you are looking for problems you'll find them, no matter where you are on the planet. By having a positive open mind you'll overcome most challenges that you could encounter Good luck and I hope this helps.

@@roncryer7825 I know all about crime. My wife is from Cali and I'm American. I have been to Colombia many times since we got married 18 years ago. ( She is now a US citizen) I'm just saying that for people watching the video like me, she just starts out by talking about fingerprints with no other explanation. Besides my wife keeping dual passports and her Cedula card current, there are no fingerprints for anything there that we are aware of. I don't think I will be moving there, or to Panama, after thinking about it. Although it would be nice not to mow the lawn or rake leaves or shovel snow anymore, I can't just pack my whole life into one suitcase and move like I'm on a vacation. Its not for me.

I was there in 2004 and seriously thought about buying there, before the boom. Got bit by a german shepherd at the gas station, 20 stiches, (Always pet GSD's chained up behind gas stations?) Climbed the volcano too. I bet it's really changed nowadays.
