Hey guys, what a fab video! We often see the Ski Famille crew around town and they always seem to be having lots of fun with the kids. We love living in Les Gets and are glad you had a great first skiing holiday... Your kids look like they enjoyed it, too - our two are 5 & 8 and are having skiing lessons with ESF. They LOVE it and are even catching us up in their snowboarding now! Eek - we need to up our game!! P.s. The bubble lift / gondola is also locally known as the "red egg"! ☺️

That scenery! Having never been skiing this is a revelation for me - I always thought of ski places as being buried under buckets of snow but it's so interesting to see the grass in between the beautiful white snow too. What a holiday! x

I would've had tears in my eyes seeing one of my boys flying down a slope like mads was ! She did so well! And you did ! I did on a few occasions Judy, I was just so proud of her up there. She was so brave and had no fear and was a natural. They use the mountain buggy ones I believe, which is good as ours wouldn't have coped up a mountain! x

What a fab video katie- I've been really looking forward to seeing how your ski experience was and how different it was to ours- similar in many ways but different in many other ways. I found it so hard to capture a lot of ours due to the extreme cold and weather at such high altitude- you've done so well to capture so many lovely moments! I think we were really lucky with ours in that at first we were disappointed that there wasn't much snow, but it was so warm when we arrived we could have walked around in a t shirt, and we managed to get some lovely walks and experiences in. It then got very very cold towards the end of the week and snowed so we had the perfect balance of both, but I can imagine it must be hard if it was so cold and snowy all week! I can't wait to watch yours and see how it compares. xx

I always thought I was the same Alex, I love the sunshine too much. But I absolutely loved every minute of this holiday and I am definitely a winter holiday convert. Theres something so nice about being toasty and warm inside but also getting to get all that fresh air outdoors. x

I know bless him, it was really cold but they all wrapped up nice and snug every day. We had the best time thanks lovely and the childcare was amazing, in fact I wanted to take one of the guys home and have him as my nanny the entire time ;) Sadly my house isn't probably as appealing as a lovely ski resort in the Alps. ;) x

I love how comfortable you felt with the chalet nannies being able to leave Wren, that's really lovely that you were able to do that. Ah thank you Emma, it really was such a lovely trip, we had no idea what to expect and we loved every single minute of it. The nannies were amazing, we have only ever really used a childcare thing on one other holiday, but we trusted them so much and felt instantly comfortable with them all. And yes Mads was amazing, she absolutely loved it and was so good! Ski Famille are really fantastic, I definitely recommend them. x

the last time we went skiing I was 14 weeks pregnant so obviously watched everyone from the sidelines. But before that we were obsessed with the slops (not the leg pain on the third day though). Since our children have been born we've been waiting for the right time to go skiing where they won't miss out and assumed that'd be around age 5 or 6. But you've sold Les Gets to us! To have the ease of a nanny and a cook would be amazing and give us the flexibility to ski. We always booked Bulgaria before because it's cheap and cheerful and actually for families it's pretty cool. But we'd be happy to pay more and have the same experience as you, it's worth it when you have kids. Don't worry about falling off the ski lift! I remember one year I build up so much speed (on the nursery slope) that I couldn't snow plough hard enough to stop me from flying into the hotel doors. I couldn't even get up because my skis hadn't unclipped themselves lol. Darren also had THE best fall down the mountain it was like watching it in slow motion. glad you all had a lovely time though it's such a brilliant experience xx

And I hugely recommend Les Gets, obviously I don't have much to base it on but it was an incredibly family friendly place with loads of great slopes and fun things for the kids to do, but it also has access to the wider Portes du Soleil area so good for experienced skiers too! xx

Oh Katie this was incredible! It was so emotional watching it thinking that could be my boys learning to ski!! The way the childcare worked was so amazing, you book for them to be there all the time but you can come and go as you please. You can hire them, I got a few names of companies you could hire stuff from. But we borrowed and bought. We got a lot of thermals, socks and things from friends who had been before, and then we bought a few things from Aldi, like my ski boots and some more thermals- bizarrely Aldi do some amazing ski gear for really cheap. We splashed out on jackets but that's it! I am going to do a little video about stuff like this as it was something I had no idea about- we had idea what to get before hand! x
