You don’t get the situation. Likely you believe that most undocumented enters illegally crossing the southern border. But it is actually very few who enters in such a way, and a more recent occurrence (for many reasons). Most undocumented enter legally on such or similar visas but overstay them. Simply because they can’t do the “temporary” thing….Going back and forth between two places in a chaotic way, leaving kids and spouses behind. So besides deporting all of those migrants, this is why Trump also doesn’t want that kind of temporary visas to be granted as much. Only the visas for well educated migrants will remain, because Musk & oligarchs want it.

I have a question: these people are referred to as "illegal migrants". From that, we can deduce they're working at jobs that pay under the table. Therefore, they are not paying taxes. Technically, their employer is colluding in tax evasion. At what point will the IRS (the tax man) swoop in to these businesses, audit them, deport all their staff (that are working there illegally) and charge the business owner with collusion in tax evasion? This is a very serious offense, for which the penalty could be seizure of the business, seizure of the business owner's private property and potential jail time. When is this going to happen? I can guarantee this will go a long way to solving their border issue... because when it comes out in the news -=- and these business owners are starting to go to jail -=- the border issue will change very, very quickly.

I thought they mostly pay SS and taxes with fake SS ID's. There are plenty of big businesses who hire them without any penalty. One example happened in Naples, FL where a food supplier for the military had over 100 illegals working. I think what happened is that the penalties for bigger businesses hiring illegals got lobbied away instead of having some kind of path to citizenship for long term workers without criminal records besides their illegal stay.

Technically, you are right but. Let's say these illegal immigrants are paid 6 bucks an hour. That's 50 bucks a day. 300 a week. 1200 a month. Now, these people going to spend at least half that on food, beer, clothes, transport, phone bill, gas and whathaveyou - IN AMERICA. Assuming an average 25% tax rate on all these goods and services, that's $150 a month and $1800 a year in the form of taxes going to the US government. Not to mention the fact that they are participating in the economy by spending. Now, multiply that by 1.2 million illegal farm workers and you have 2.2 billions dollars in revenue - this is an absolute bare minimum. number. Now remember, the US government invested absolutely nothing in these people. People always make this rookie mistake of assuming that the only form of tax is direct tax.

All it takes is one raid at a crop field, and word will get out that a raid occured and no other crop field within miles, will have workers show up to work. I seen it in the 80's and they didn't have cell phones to communicate to their friends at other fields. And today they all have cell phones. These migrant workers are not employed year round. They are employed seasonal and they work at various fields. They network for work. And so now if a raid happens at one farm or field, others at another field will immediately be notified, and will leave home from work and not show up the following days. Crops will be ruined.
