So sorry about your pup. Great spot and I think I figured out where it is but I'll never tell - I keep my favorite spots to myself too. I might be able to make it there in my 20 year old Outback by itself but not likely when towing the 1500 lb cargo trailer I camp in (I'm to old and broken down for all the tent set up business, lol).

Are dogs allowed there? I was wondering how safe it was because I have two labs and was thinking of going there next year. I would likely bring our own water as I don't trust them being at the edge of the water as I have heard that when dogs take a drink or wade in to it, gators think they are prey.
@cbrawr1000rr3 ай бұрын
We brought our dogs out here multiple times, and just kept a very close eye on them. It’s Florida so gators, bears, and other predators are out and about so there is always a risk, but if you keep a close eye on them as you should then I wouldn’t worry.

Any tips of how to find nice spots like this
@venturevalzone27994 ай бұрын
@@Hjt892 Download an overland map app like onX or Gaia gps, search around and find some trails or forest roads and go out and explore. You can also join some overland/ offroad Facebook groups for some guidance for locations or place to go out to. Some of those groups may even host rides or events that you can get out and explore with them to find some of these places

It’s in Ocala nf and it’s one of that you have to find. Quite a few people that spend time exploring out there know the spot but part of the fun and adventure is mapping and exploring which makes spots like this even better.

@@venturevalzone2799 You posted a camp spot. Mike asked you where the spot is. You said you would not tell him because it was "part of the fun" to drive around searching for it. I simply asked: who would that be fun for? You? Or Mike?
@venturevalzone279910 ай бұрын
@@christopherblaisdel If you don’t enjoy the exploring part then why would you want to go remote camping in this manner, let alone watch my videos. A top of that there are plenty of options at state parks and local campgrounds that would remove the “fun” that you’re worried about. To answer your question more bluntly, it’s the nice way of saying no I’m not telling, but I would hope that was an obvious.

Hi, why the water has that brownish color? How does it smell?
@venturevalzone2799 Жыл бұрын
The water is murky due to the river flowing in from local salt water marshes and black water rivers that connect to it. The water does not smell.

Can you camp out there during hunting season? I was told hunting season starts this month, or already has… Was hoping to find some sites like this during our trip on November 30th.

Dispersed camping by my understanding is not allowed during hunting season in Ocala Nf. Check out the Nf website to clarify.

plenty of people camp there during hunting season dispersed or otherwise but it is not the safest place during hunting season especially with the dog deer hunting.I live 15 minutes away but stay out of much of forest during hunting season because of the unsafe hunters.

Yes it is a beautiful place to spend a couple days, with that said , please stop posting where these places are. People with a lot less respect for the forest find these sites and leave their garbage and their fire burning. I’m not trying to be nasty. I live the forest too, every time the wife and I go anywhere to get away we always bring our trash and other people’s trash back home with us
@venturevalzone2799 Жыл бұрын
I’m not posting locations. I have had hundreds of people ask and my answer is always the same for everyone. “Finding places is all part of the adventure”. People will ruin things regardless. We try our best to pick up trash whenever we are out as well. Me posting a video will not change the way people treat our national forest sadly. All we can do is show their beauty and try to be good stewards and relay information on tread lightly and packing out what you pack in. Our goals is always to leave it better then we found it.
@christopherblaisdel10 ай бұрын
Explain the logic behind how you have concluded that the people who currently know where this spot is must obviously have superior "respect" than those who haven't found it yet? Surely the strewn garbage on the spot doesn't constitute such evidence.
