I miss those days. A little cooking competition is ok, when it becomes 90% of your programming it's a problem.

YESSS.. Pennsylvania Dutch extra wide noodles:) THE BEST if you are not making your own:) They are also good in Tuna Noodle or for beef stroganoff! I will bet that she knows about "Shady Maple" in Lancaster Co. too! A little lemon in the chicken noodle is very nice.

It would’ve made sense to takeoff the skin and then season it and bake it. And cook it one last time so it doesn’t dry out.

Turnips are healthy and vegetables are actually extremely healthy yet it is complicated. Breaking down vegetables is no easy task some have carbohydrates then it gets into micro and macro nutrients. Extremely complicated

Oh dear, that chowder would not make it in New England. CARROTS? With clams.? That sound in the background is my Maine ancestors rotating in their graves.

@@nevastrong2850 It’s a new day. You can invent any dish you wish. I make a very basic chowder…because it is whatI have loved for years. But as a lapsed Californian, my salads are a far cry from the iceberg lettuce salads of my New England youth.,,

WHAT does she mean when she says 1 Cup of Good Red Wine????? I have absolutely NO idea what red wine is Good Red Wine for cooking BEEF? I sure wish she would say the brand and type of red wine. Oops, there she goes again! She just said to use white wine. I HAVE tasted Pinot Griegot (spelling?)wine. Nastiest stuff ever! Cook with something that tastes that bad? AM I the only one who thinks wine does NOT improve the taste of GOOD FOOD??? Oh me! I wil never get the hang of this cooking with wine! 😢
@nevastrong2850
@nevastrong2850 11 ай бұрын
Ahhh…yes. So many wines to decipher!😅 cooking with red wine simply means something on the cheaper side; alcohol burns off when you cook it down. It does add flavor. I use an inexpensive Cabernet when cooking with beef. You can use beef or chicken stock instead of red or white wines if you want! Cooking is so fun cuz you can experiment.

Basically, choose wines that are both not expensive, and dry. You'll be fine!

Ina has always been too heavy handed with salt. I'd start with one third of what she uses, more salt can nearly always be added at the end of cooking after tasting.
