One of my favorite Valentine's gift from my hubby was when he wrote notes throughout the house with clues which led to another note and ultimately a picnic and a movie at home. We didn't have much money. We conceived our daughter that night. 24 years ago. Best Valentine's Day ever! 💖

These tips are gold! An at home spa night is what we’re doing tonight. There’s nothing sexier than being in robes giving each other massages and helping each other to unwind. We’ll be married 10 years and have an 8 year old and 4 year old and being creative and intentional is huge to keep the love alive and to make sure we both feel thought of by the other.

Getting dressed up is not us. 30yrs anniversary this year. We cooked together, lit candles, are still drinking our favourite drinks, eating chocolate, watching movies with blankets. And no we don't need valentine's to do this, I can assure you 🤭 we have done so many different things for valentine's over the years and this is our fave. We buy gifts, but I also did for my sons too although now they are in their 20s and those days are sadly passed. Valentine's isn't a once a year day of romance, it's just an extra bonus we both enjoy. 🥰

I actually decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend because my husband and I were both working and it’s also Tuesday we work the next day. But I did order him some balloons and flowers so when he got home he would find them. He also send me flowers to my job. The older you get in life you start to appreciate more and more the small things in life

I personally disagree about a restaurant not being a sexy experience. My husband and I love going out and getting dressed up. He is a sound engineer so he doesn’t really work a job that requires him to be dresses so he also enjoys getting dressed up and looking nice together. We also really enjoy trying new restaurants and different cuisines. We enjoy discussing and exploring those things and it is a shared interest of ours. (we never go out on actual Valentine’s Day) I just put this out there to say these are great suggestions but it’s ok to do what you enjoy! For some that time away from the house in a nicer environment is very special and intimate. Intimacy is personal and you should do what you and your partner enjoy doing together! I am always grateful for time to get out of my daily mom clothes and be the center of my husbands attention.

We have 3 boys now 12,14,&15 and ever since they were younger we celebrated Valentine’s Day as a family on Valentine’s Day ( my husband purposed to me on Valentine’s Day 10 years ago and they were able to witness ) so we’ve always celebrated as a family. We get them a special gift ( nothing crazy or expensive) something they receive in the morning g to make they’re day and then we let them pick the restaurant or food place of their choice. I never thought they really loved this but this year put 12 year old made it a point a few days before Valentine’s Day to tell me how much he was looking forward to our family date night and chocolates lol. My husband and I celebrate Valentine’s Day the following weekend as it is our wedding anniversary. ( married 10 years together 17years praise God!)Great tips guys thanks so much! This is exactly what my husband and I did today (Valentines Day), We did a take out order at my favorite restaurant instead of eating inside and we drove to a look out in DC overlooking the Water & airport. It was so relaxing and comfortable. no stress at all. We are empty nesters now but if we had kids with us, they would've enjoyed the back seat eating and looking at the planes take off and land.

All the tips are so great! I like relaxing at home, making chai and just spending time with my husband on more special days! It’s so much more relaxing at home then having to constantly check your phone when someone else has the kids! I just stopped trying to overplan things and honestly , less stress and it works out so much better!

100% agree restaurants are more stress than anything on vday! Whenever we have a sitter for our two kids we almost always order Chinese from our fav spot, watch our fav shows together and simply enjoy our own company because even the older the kids get (5/3) it becomes harder and harder to find those pockets of time !

Literally so hard to put time aside when having kids (even pets) to have those moment's, BUT its so necessary (our dog is epileptic so we have to be aware of him as well) but it's so important to make time and date even when married. I appreciate these tips. I literally forgot about today, it took me to remember to send my youngest in with valentine's for her clas party to acknowledge today. I worked, stopped on the way home for goodies. Shared a kiss with my husband, exchanged gifts with him snd my kids. Now waiting on Chinese food. We can eat together as a family then movie and husband time later.

My biggest tip is to enlist a village. When babies are younger than 2 it’s pretty easy to maintain your same life. Once they get older it gets challenging. Having someone watch them (even if you have to pay them) is worth it. Get that time with your spouse! But you DO and WILL need help!
