My favorite Christmas memory....my son was 5. He had wrapped his gift by himself and used so much tape. When I finally got it opened I found the box was empty. My curly haired blue eyed boy looked at me and said "Its not empty. I filled it with love." Best gift ever!! He's 52 now and I still have that box!! I want to thank you & Mike for all that you do. One memory hit me while watching this. I was about 9 and went to a little friend's church Christmas Eve to watch their nativity play and greet the mystery Santa who would come afterward with a small toy and bag of candy, nuts and fruit for each child in attendance. (Our church was a bit more traditional and didn't have a program like this.) Santa came in full attire and, to distribute the gifts, took his white glove off his right hand. I gasped as I recognized the work-worn hand. It was my father! I was so excited I could barely keep the smug look off my face! It really meant something very special to me as none of the other children could guess who he was. 😊

One of my favourites memories was many years ago when my son had just started school (at about 4.5 years old) - he's now 42. Father Christmas was at their Christmas fair, asking if the children🎉 had they been good & what they wanted that year. They were all so excited. My parents were with us & whilst we were waiting for father Christmas to appear grandad had to "pop off for a few minutes". My son was worried that grandad would miss seeing father Christmas & might not get any presents. When his turn came his 1st concern was to explain to father Christmas that grandad was here really & had been "a good boy". As you have probably guessed "father Christmas" (& lots of others who knew who it was under the red suit & beard) had tears in his eyes as his sweet grandson was making sure he didn't miss out before thinking of himself. Grandad has been gone for nearly 5 years now but we still remember & talk about this - much to my "tough" son's embarrassment. Happy Christmas & hopes for an easier New Year for us all. T.

The kindness of others is something that is precious. Best part is everyone gets to participate in kindness if they choose to. Many kindnesses are simple and easy. Merry Christmas Jane and Mike! From about the age of 12 on, it was a thrill for me to get together with other schools and organizations to sing the Novello version of Handel's Messiah. The sounds were otherworldly and it was a wonderful way to worship the birth of Christ. Music was a dominant feature in most of my life.

I have memories of all the generous people helping my family over the years since my dad had a heart condition and couldn't always work. People would bring large boxes of food and candy for everyone. My mother made a feast out of whatever she had available and we spent time together playing board games or cards. I don't remember the gifts either, just the happy times. We never used to have any presents but I remember my father preparing a leg of lamb, the custard trifle and the jam tarts on Christmas day bless him. Happy Christmas and Happy New year to you all ❤

Yes, you explained it perfectly. That's why we do the things for our children. Its the memories for them and us. Gifts are forgotten, but the love and special traditions we don't forget. Merry Christmas to everyone.

As one of 5 children most of our gifts were practically things we needed like new pyjamas slippers dressing gown. A new outfit to wear on Christmas Day. When I think back we only really got one gift that was a toy. A book, a small colouring book and a set of coloured pencils which we would need to return to school. A small selection box which we made last all through Christmas.

Merry Christmas from NJ. We had a special table of goodies and Carol services and christmas eve and our emphasis on Christmas day was also breakfast after gift exchange rather than dinner. I couldn't tell you what we ate for dinner over the years but oh man the breakfasts!😂

Thank you for your inspiring videos and sharing your memories. When I was a child, I had very poor Christmass, then modest and better ones and very oppulent ones. But every time, I have the same attitude to see the human warmth, the decorations of this season, a menu enhanced by sweets and some gifts: a wonder that leaves me speechless and my pleasure consists in seyinging the joy of others around me, forgetting that I also have a gift or package to open.
