Hopefully I would make it to the next one, especially I’m only 10mins away from there

@@golfmk2 well, what can I say, I have a red tornado 1990 GTI... Well now it has a MK3 2.0 engine... I used to have a 1997 Jetta GL a long time ago... So I will restore and maintain this new to me GTI... I will try to post some of it in the following months

@evenstevenmotodrone735 oh lovely! The Mk3 2.0 GTI engine is very popular conversion here in the UK too. Retains the original feel and character of the Mk2. Time to get restoring and enjoying your awesome car. Would love to see the pics. Feel free to post on our Facebook group of the same name.

When the Berry Corrado, white lhd Mk2 Golf and the Blue one on BBS rims turned up, it did indeed make 20 cars! Forgot to mention that bit. 😅

@@golfmk2 I would love to come and see all the lovely MK2s and other VWs, I really miss driving the MK2, the Mk5 is good, but it's no ABF MK2 👊💯🔥😆

Ah at least you've got what is well renowned as the best Golf since the Mk2 as well. That's a silver lining 👌

my dad use to own a mk2 16v .i can recall from the early 90s

Lovely! Good taste then. Do you remember much about it? My dad used to have Jettas, but nothing as exciting as 16v ones. Just diesels or carb versions.

@@golfmk2 it was fast he drove it daily HE would stop on the high way to literally wipe down the dirt on the body to keep it super white

nice turnout! I haven't seen a mk1, mk2, or mk3 golf in the United States. My favorite Mk2 has gotta be that dark blue on bbs.
@golfmk2 Жыл бұрын
Wow, are they really that rare over there? They're much less common in the UK than a few years ago, as they're all over 30 years old now, so if neglected, most have rusted away. That Blue one on BBS rims was stunning. Do you see many Corrados in the states?
@P33CEGAWD Жыл бұрын
@@golfmk2 yes they are rare here! you won't see one driving around the streets only at shows. and if you manage to find one for sale it won't be in the condition that these mk2s are. As for corrados I have seen one in person in Colorado and one for sale on FB marketplace that wasn't running. another dream car of mine Corrado VR6 😍

That's interesting, I hadn't realised Mk2 Gofls were so rare in America. I assumed they were commonplace. I know saloons (sedans) are more popular over there, so are there any Jettas left, or is it the same story? Yeah I love a Corrado too. They don't have as much of a following over here, but still a big head turner!
