I love this video but I disagree with the woman offering to pay on the first date. I think if the man initiates the date, meaning he is the one who asked the woman out on the date then he should pay for the first date. If they both decide to go on another date then the woman can pay for the second date. I agree that the man shouldn't always pay for the dates though cause we don't want him to go broke lol. If a guy is going to take you on a date, then let him take care of the date, which includes him paying for it. It has nothing to do with women being "weak earthlings" like someone referenced below. Yes, a woman can pay for a date at some point but not the first date, especially if he asked her out. It's called courting people. Let a man be a man.

I know for me personally I wouldn't offer to pay the bill because if he is asking me out for dinner then he obviously has money. If he doesn't have money then I would pay but then i would make a mental note to never go on a date with him again. Unless he had a really good reason for not having any money.

so if a guy asked you out for dinner (1st date) would you offer to pay? I offered it once, to pay my own food etc. and the guy seemed offended and i was so freaking embarrassed afterwards it just made the whole situation so awkward. all of my friends said I shouldn't have because it was his turn to pay because HE asked ME out. It was my very first date though so i had no idea to be honest..

At the end of my first date with my boyfriend of now five years, he went in for a kiss on the cheek when I thought he was just going to hug me. I ended up going in for the hug so fast that he kissed my ear :P I was so embarrassed that I giggled, waved and walked away lol We still laugh about it to this day

Even though I would offer, I personally would be a lot less impressed with my date if he didn't insist on paying for the first date if he's the one who asked me out. It might be 2014 but women still earn .77 cents for every $1 a man makes. Gender issues aside, I just think first date should leave a great first impression. The following dates, I can treat the guy or we can go dutch depending on what we're doing or our different situations.

A dinner isn't casual, it's actually very intimate especially if you go out at night. A first date should be during the day like a brunch or a walk in a park. If you go out at night, it's almost expected that he is going to get something after... ijs

When i comes to the end of dinner i like to excuse myself to the bathroom to make sure that there is nothing in my teeth and you know, to blot my face, re apply lipstick and maybe give myself another spritz of perfume. If the guy genuinely wants to treat me for dinner, by the time i get back he would have sorted it out if the bill is still sitting there on the table then I pick it up look at it an pull out my credit card (reserving only the tiniest bit of judgement)
