I've also found having 3 accounts to be best for budgeting. (spending, bills and saving). The savings and bills account shouldn't have a card since that will tempt spending so best to set up direct debits. The only one with the card is the spending account and you won't feel guilty when you spend :). Live within your means x

I started putting money aside using a very simple idea; over the course of 52 weeks, or a year, you put aside a set amount of money. In the first week you save £1. The second week, £2. The third week £3 and so on and so forth. You get the picture. One year later you put aside £52 in week 52 and check your balance... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You've just saved up £1378!!! Anyone can do this. Great video. I laughed at the thought of you spending £600 on eating out in a month. So you basically ate, in monetary value, a second hand car!! LOOOOOL!!!!

Patricia, well done for doing this video. I'm a 40 something mother who has in the past four years buckled down to saving. I was motivated when I realised that university was likely to be on the cards for my academically gifted daughter. My saving issues started when I got a smartphone, because then I was doing waaaay too much online shopping. It was just so instant to say Oh, I want that, let me just click and buy it. So my boyfriend got me to start using this app called Mint. It just maps out how much money youre spending on Shopping, Entertainment, Food etc and gives you daily tips for saving. I love it. Once I look at the charts I instantly know, well, I would rather have that money in my savings account and it helps me become better and more conscious.

IE the ones iv previously had may well have been free, but either after a week it blocks it and requires you to pay a set subscription in order to 'lift' the block and continue to use, others were only certain bits were fre, again requiring sign up (pay Up) to obtain the full use and benefit he most from the app, just curious, of course this vlog is a golden Oldie, so perhaps unable to advise,if u can however,I'd be incredibly grateful for your time and reply, sending Positivity , Love and Light to you darling! ✨Shine shine shine ✨🙃

See, I have the opposite problem. I HATE spending money. If it's in my possession, I can't spend it. My mother will give me hundreds of dollars and it gets spend on necessities like food and other stuff. This is a great video! I think it should also be mentioned that sometimes watching KZbin Hauls and Reviews can make you overspend. It can seem like our favourite bloggers/KZbinrs are buying new stuff every week and so we feel like we just have to buy in order to keep up but we shouldn't. We forget that these videos should be used as a reference/inspiration on what we can add to our closets or use if it's necessary and we're looking for something but not a rule that we must buy them. As you said 'Don't watch what others are doing!' - I think it applies to KZbinrs/Bloggers as well. Their budgets might be a whole lot different from yours. I love new products/fashion but if it doesn't fit in to my budget - don't buy it! Having three accounts for spending, saving and bills is the best (I have a fourth for essential spending like food shop and petrol otherwise I'd spend that too!) you can spend your spending money to your hearts content and know you're not over budget and everything is planned for. Thanks for doing this Patricia, this is an area a lot of people struggle with. x

I've always been pretty smart when it comes to money, I spend mostly on what I need first and rarely what I want. I opened a savings account and currently have three accounts open and plan to have obviously the savings for savings, one for bills and the other for spending on my wants. I want to save for a car so having that motivation definitely helps, makes me want to scrounge the couches and sidewalks for pennies to add. Oh and I do have a penny jar it's huge, need to take that in to the bank lol makes me feel like I'm five
