4 years ago my wife and I went to China for the wedding of my youngest son to a beautiful and intelligent young Chinese girl. Our experience was truly fabulous. We also traveled on the super fast train from Beijing to Shanghai. China with its high technology made us feel like we were in a different world, truly fascinating. China is a country with an ancient and rich culture.

We understand that. The most surprising fact for us is the RAPID development of (not just small but huge) projects in so many Asian countries, not just in China. Wonderful China! I used GOOGLE to search for relevant information, and it was shocking!China is still expanding its high speed train network year in year out until 2035 to 70,000 kms, now is 42000ish. Last year they have laid 2082 kms, so every year till then China will lay 2200 kms of new high speed train network average until 2035. Ever since Japan started to build up their high speed train network till today since 1964, they had only 2830 kms built up in 59 years, so one year of new Chinese high speed train net work extension almost equal 80% of Japan’s total 59 years built up. Yet In 2008, California voted yes to build the nation's first high-speed railway. The plan is to build an electric train that will connect Los Angeles and San Francisco in two hours and forty minutes. But 15 years later, there is not a single mile of track laid, and there isn't enough money to finish the project, let along the total cost is estimated at $128 billion high already and getting higher every year.

The US cost for 1 km traintrack is about 50 mil. USD, whole in China the cost is about 23 mil. Why not let China build the track to save money.

Unbelievable!❤ In July we heard on the German news that many main train tracks in Germany will get remodeled within the next few years and we should celebrate the start of this project … you don’t want me to say the number of km out loud 🙈 it would be so embarrassing 😂🤣

@@our-travel-journal Germany's high-speed rail is very good. But as long as Western countries have electoral systems, many plans will be overturned by the next government just because the prime minister changes. The German Green Party likes to use environmental issues to block many infrastructure constructions.

I used to live 10 minute walk from Lujiazui when I first moved to China 11 years ago and did my weekend shopping at Super Mall. I loved living there and every weekend I'd walk around the area. I worked in that area. The Shanghai Tower was still being built and I recall the year it opened, unfortunately that New Years eve there was a stampede at the Bund as it was packed with people.

Great China content. You all managed to do a lot in one single day. I just subscribed to your channel and liked the video of course :) It was great. And it is amazing to see when countries cooperate and share and transfer technology, like in the case of MAGLEV technology that saw German companies Siemens and ThyssenKrupp share with and transfer their technology to China.
