In today's video, we visit the Walt Disney Resort for our very first Disney staycation! We checked into Disney's Riviera Resort for a day full of fun. Come with us on our journey as we ride the Skyliner for the very first time to visit Epcot, eat at Topolino's Terrace at the Riviera, and go to Disney's Boardwalk to try to see the fireworks. This was an amazing first experience staying on Disney property and we can't wait to do it again!

Anna The Skyliner was one of several jobs I worked at Disney. There are engineers monitoring every single cable car. They are located behind the glass at every station. It is a one way mirror. They have digital equipment and the skillset to come out and fix any problem in real time. There are also other things designed for every possible emergency sitting in plain sight, but you won't see it unless I tell you where it is. That includes boats, cranes and other equipment. The training for that job is one of the most detailed of any job I had at Disney and that includes security(about half of all security is like me an ex solider or police officer) which requires you to be trained for medical emergencies. Nothing is perfect. But the Skyliner is likely the safest transportation in all of Disney world. I am sure we will bump into each other again. I am the one who sang "Im going to love pugh for ever" the first time we met. LOL! Tyler: Those cable cars are quite cool in the summer time. Just open the vents at the top of the windows and a nice breeze comes in. They were originally designed with AC units but they were to heavy and became a safety issue. The cars are not moving. It is clamped onto the cable. it is the cable that is moving. Success and nothing Less!

If it helps, most of the time when the skyliner stops it didn't really "break". There's a guest that just needed more time to load, like any number of Disney or Universal attractions.

So the Skyliner does not have fans or air-conditioning. The motion creates a breeze which keeps the cabins cool, but if the cabins stop which happens from time to time, it’s a hotbox, there’s actually an emergency kit in each gondola on the first week. The Skyliner was open. People got stuck for hours, it was this whole mess

If you like ice cream, go across the lake from the Boardwalk to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club resort. The "break downs" on the skyliner are usually just stoppages to let wheelchair guest board and unboard.

So awesome that you guys got a room upgrade!🥳 Regarding the Skyliner, we would never do that lol. If there is a lightning storm within 30 miles, it shuts down like the pools. And in the emergency box, they have bags to relieve yourself in if it breaks down, yeah no thank you lol. We usually stay at the Epcot resorts: Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin. All of the Epcot resorts have the Friendship boats to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Or you can walk. Walking distance to Epcot is 5-10 mins. Walking distance to Hollywood Studios is 15-20 mins.

My son and I did the same thing at Breckenridge one summer! Rode a ski lift up to an 11,000 ft. peak without realizing until halfway through that there was a safety bar to be lowered. :) There was no lift attendant to direct us. But it was fun, not terrifying. We liked the mountains so much that we took up snowboarding the next winter.

I freak out whenever it comes to the L shaped turn. I've done the ski lift ride at the Northpole amusement park in Colorado. It was mortifying and my son and sister were laughing at me.

We are DVC members and the Riviera is one of our home resorts. That is the style room we are normally and they are wonderful. If you stop back by there in the future see if you can take a tour of the 12 person suite.

8:21 when there’s very high winds they do close the Skyliner. And yes, totally agree. The first time I went on the Skyliner I had a bunch of butterflies, but the more you do it the more you get used to it.

Oh Anna, I felt your nervousness. We went in October from Epcot to Riviera. I love rollercoasters but hated the skyliner. There's one at our local theme park that's 100s ft high and it's given me serious trauma! 😂 We had to go back to Epcot and in my panic, got on the wrong one so had to go back again! We'll have to try again another time. Adore your crocs and top! 😍 And a 1bdr upgrade is the dream at Riviera! Amazing stay.

What a fabulous room you two scored. My wife agrees with you Anna, she hates heights and said riding the skyliner at night is better because you can't see the ground. I am with you Tyler I love the ride. It is also a great way to travel for our daughter. They can load us into the gondola separate from the ride with my daughters wheelchair and then put us back in line. We don't have to feel rushed and she loves the ride , she is not afraid of much. As always you both made us laugh, you both are so entertaining. Thank you so much 😂

I loved the skyliner, we took it everywhere, we even got stuck right above the street, it was cool watching the cars go by, and how can you say there is nothing to do in Colorado? I’m from Colorado Springs and there is so much to do there, hiking, skiing, rodeos, camping, so much more fun than crappy Massachusetts that I’m in now lol.

@@ThePughTwo This is just me, but I don't have any desire to be a time share member, not Disney, nor anywhere else. Honestly, you own nothing. Just a space of time. Unless Disney is different and I doubt they are. Like I say that's just me. I had to sit through a few of those time share pitches where they hound you for an hour and a half trying to get you to sign on the dotted line. I stuck to me guns and kept saying no. Now give me my free Universal tickets and let me go! LOL! We actually did get free Universal tickets back in the early 90s when we sat through a time share thing. It was actually in 1990 the inaugural year that Universal Orlando opened. We were there the first year. We did every one of the original rides that was there opening year. Back To The Future ride was added 2-3 years later, I think.

Maddie had 2 Murphy beds! And when London was “broke” for that episode she stayed at Maddie’s place with those beds! Loved the video! Looks like a gorgeous place and an amazing time😁✨

We literally stayed in this same room on our last trip! It took a bit to get used to the shorter bed because it’s an ADA room…but the resort is beautiful and the view was awesome..glad you were able to get into Topolinos! Love to positivity from your guys’ videos..fun to watch! And you should absolutely try and stay at the Boardwalk at some point…that is our family’s favorite resort..our home away from home

I didn’t realize so many people are frightened of the Skyliner. It is my favorite mode of Disney transport. Absolutely love Riviera! I definitely want to see the Disney resorts through your eyes. The AP discounts are pretty regular and I find upgrades happen regularly on 1 night stays.

I love the skyliner but will never ride Velocicoaster. But I've never had a problem with heights. It was fun watching Anna's reaction. Hopefully you'll get used to it one day. While you were eating ice cream I thought about something you need to try. It's in Epcot in France called L'Artisan des Glaces. You need to try the Croque Glace. Its ice cream in a warm brioche bread

Anna, I get it. I'm afraid of heights, but have no problem flying or going on The Hulk or Velocicoaster. Ferrris wheel or a skyline type thing? Hard no, it just feels so unsafe. :-) It may not make sense to others but it makes sense to me :-)

I try to close my eyes when yall go into the shops but I was peeking lol....I end up wanting everything. Anna you didn't get the pizza ears lol!!!! Between Anna's "Why are we flying" and Tyler's calm face I was laughing my heart out; that was so fun to watch lol. I've been wanting to ride the Skyliner since it opened but I've just never been able to squeeze it into my itinerary. Do you have to have a park ticket or stay at a resort to ride it? I've never been sure on that. The only Disney hotel we've stayed at was the Waldorf and that was before it became an official Disney hotel (I'm still in my feelings about the change given the price increase lol but I'll get over it).

The Skyliner is like a mini Mickey's Fun Wheel but instead of going in a circle it just goes from point A to B. I don't like it but I'll still subject myself to go on it
