Our First German Christmas Market Experience | Hamburg & Amsterdam Christmas Cruise

Welcome back to Christmas week - with one we have been waiting all month to experience - our very first Christmas Market in Hamburg, Germany.

As we are on a family holiday with Stephens mom & dad, we thought heading out on a Christmas market cruise would be perfect, stopping over in Amsterdam and Hamburg (we were also meant to go to Belgium but the stop was cancelled last minute due to high winds).
Upon arrival in Amsterdam we headed out the city to Zaanse Schans to see the Netherlands countryside, go inside a Windmill, check out the wooden traditional clogs and see the Christmas cheer in the city.
Next day we arrived in Hamburg and were blown away by the German Christmas Markets. We tried vegetarian bratwurst, hot chocolate, beignets and even saw the Christmas parade!

If you’re ever backs in Germany, come to the state of Thuringia. It has really beautiful nature, national parks , lots of castle’s, beautiful cold towns in the city Centers 💕

Your vlog made me so homesick. I used to live in both The Netherlands and Germany and love these countries. Definitely home for me. I love the Weinachtsmarkten like you went to in Hamburg. I love the authenticity of German Christmas decorations, food etc Mostly handmade and high quality. Zaanse Schans ( Zarnsa Skanska) is also so very beautiful. Looking forward to your next vlog!

I did a winter semester in Germany and that was the best Christmas I’ve ever had. I made it a point to go out everyday to visit all the Christmas markets in Munich before it was time for me to head back home. I walked around the markets alone sometimes, with a Starbucks christmas-specials frappuccino because I got tired of hot drinks 😂 I watched this today just to relive the wonderful moments, though I can’t smell the spices, the sounds and the ambience were very well captured here. If you come back next time, try the Christmas markets in middle Germany like Quedlinburg, Wernigerode, Nürnberg, or over to Saxony Annerberg-Buchholz and a lot of others. They’re way more magical, because of the beautiful cities around them. I‘m living in Berlin and we do every year in December a shorttrip to explore those beautiful cities and they’re markets. It’s always so nice to see you both coming back to us 😘.
