watching your podcast over the past year has literally helped me as a 25 y/o lesbian in so many ways. I feel like i actually share community with you through all these suuuper specific shared queer experiences that no one really talks about. Shame, identity, growth, acceptance. I feel like im growing into myself just as you guys are, working thru different issues and insecurities that are linked to growing up queer. I love your friendship and every Wednesday i my head I say " well thank god a new good children episode drops today " . it seriously helps me thru my week. And the patreon on Friday is a must. I just love u guys!

As a straight woman I also experienced a lack of touch as a child. My parents never gave me hugs or kisses and as an adult it really stunted my confidence in a lot of aspects of my intimate life. I will say it’s gotten so much better! I am now a huge lover of touch and physical affection. I hope you can find that comfort too Andrew!! ❤❤

Call me a cancer sun & cancer moon but I love the feelings episodes. The layers of shame, discomfort, and pressure regarding touch are fascinating and I 100% relate. Personally having closer platonic physical contact with people I trust has made me more comfortable in my body. I also think having consistent, non-sexual physical intimacy with friends is helpful because you become more comfortable with touching in general so that when you’re in a sexual situation it’s not the first time in however long that you’ve been touched. Touch is so powerful, thanks for your great discussion!

i think it’s so interesting hearing this side of the touch topic (not wanting to touch each other at all for fear of outing yourself) bc i feel like i experienced the opposite - i was so touchy feely with all of my girl friends that i was too afraid to come out for fear that the dynamic would change or they would see me differently. so wild how differently socialized we all are

to preface this i usually never comment on videos, but this has become my comfort podcast, im making my way through listening to these episodes and the way you guys can have the funniest banter and talk through some deep rooted trauma is so refreshing and comforting. segment about touch really healed a piece of me and had me thinking about some of the things i went through growing up. thank you guys for being so genuine and honest in an era of inauthenticity online. really love you guys and this podcast ❤️

You guys are so good at listening and expressing how you’re feeling. What you’ve felt on the topic of touch is exactly how I’ve felt throughout my life. You guys put it into words I couldn’t explain. Thank you and now I’m gonna hug/cry to my best friend.

Kinda similar, growing up during my "awkward stage", I literally HATED looking at my face, I would avoid mirrors, I would avoid cameras and looking at myself in pictures.. I'm so glad I got out of that omg. I needed the openness topic and the "Relationship/Boat" analogy so bad, you don't even know.

It's funny listening to this and thinking about how I grew up with no openly gay people around me, or even the presence of someone who I might have subconsciously known was queer. And then, my sexuality blossomed. I went hard into throwing my body to people I didn't even find that attractive, but thought the act was enough. The minute I moved to London when I was 21, touch was the language and communication between friends and the queer community in groups and normal everyday situations. But without the strings of sexual intent involved, just a way to show love and welcome to one another. But just showing each other we are in a safe space where touch can be explored with each other was such a revelation that I think is so unique in the queer community.

This was a really nice conversation to hear. Im a fat guy who grew up a fat insecure catholic kid and I am in a very loving and committed relationship, and the physical repulsion i still experience form unexpected touch from my favorite man in the world is so involuntary, I'm glad this is something others experience and I hope i can recover from my past, thanks you guys

Getting vulnerable.. when I came out to my close friends they almost didn’t believe me cause they were also queer but super touchy and I didn’t want any part of it and I really thought something was wrong with me or I wasn’t queer enough because I didn’t want to be like that with my friends
