Went to Vietnam in October and got engaged in Hoi An. If you’re still in town I’d recommend checking out cargo. It’s a bit touristy but the food and view are so great.

Vietnam dishes seem so appetizing. Like the amount and variety of fresh greens etc. with meat and rice products. Mango peanut ball was just as fun as mochi kawaii.

I like the way Eric ate his spring rolls. It is so fun to watch; the dish must be yummy for him to finish. We love watching your videos. You guys are REAL. By the way, how much for the plates you ate at Bale well. I will visit that restaurant when I come to VN. Good jobs, Eric. :)

I think I’m falling in love with Vietnam 🇻🇳! From the rice fields to the lantern nights, to the small bustling city vibe but never quite like the bustling of Japan. I really like the vlogs you guys are putting out here, I love the calmness of them, it’s a wonderful break after Japan. I’m excited for you guys to head to Sydney though, and the food tour you’re gunna do here. The meal you had looked really yummy!

Tip on wrapping those rolls: those rice papers are tough cookies, don't worry about breaking or ripping them, put them down on the plate, start layering them with veggies, pickled items, and proteins, then start rolling them tightly

Awesome video you guys.. Especially your tour of Hoi An.. I spent a year between Mar 1970 and Apr 1971 about 5 miles from Hoi An at a place that I'm sure no longer exists, called LZ(Landing Zone) Hawk Hill, a US Army base camp for the 196th Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry Division during the Vietnam war. Its great to see how that area of Vietnam has fared over the nearly 50 years thats past..

Hey guys next time you eat Banh Xeo, use the lettuce leaf to wrap instead of the rice paper, and stuff the lettuce with the bready crepe then dip everything into the sauce. Lettuce wrap instead of rice paper wrap. Happy travels!
@anphuongka5 жыл бұрын
The whole idea is the lettuce will moisturize the rice paper wrap, make it easier to roll. The lecture itself is fresh and easily break apart, it would not absorb the sauce as well, only leave your hands dirty without adding any texture and flavor. Consider it next time you try Banh Xeo

Guys :)) the Vietnamese pancake (the one filled with bean sprouts and pork, etc) that you had at the end of the video is supposed to be cut into half and then you should have made a similar roll like the bbq pork with greens and rice papers. That is how Vietnamese eat those. But glad that you enjoy it either way :D

Whilst we are glad to have visited Hoi An, we were also very disappointed in how crowded, touristy and a pushy crowd there was. Have been there once and it is one of the places we put in the “Don’t need to go back” category! Lovely spectacular place but just too crowded to enjoy.

Vietnam is so modern compared to when I was there in 1967-68. I did not get to see any of the cities. Only rice fields mountains and jungles for the years tour. I walked a many a mile in that country. I just wonder what the smells are like in the markets. I would think they aren't pleasant. I saw the dim lights of Da Nang from the top of a mountain I guess probably 15 miles to the west.
