If play boosters don't see change over the next few sets, the exact same issue will happen between set and draft. Play boosters are not worth buying.

I was excited to buy product for this set but anything that’s not collectors boosters do not seem worth opening. I’ll stick to pre-release and draft for collecting cards

Yeah, right? Came here after the collector box video: A lot of the sick art which really makes this set, a lot of the critter reprints and some special guests. Now the play boosters? Pretty damn tame. Oh, just checked: Courageous Critters are exclusive to Collector Boxes. Special guests only in 1.5% of play boosters. Unfortunately no odds on the collecting bloomburrow page for hitting rares in the slots beyond the guaranteed rare slot, but it looks tame. No reason to buy play boosters beyond bundle for storage and prerelease for playing sealed here. Got a feeling they might take a hit in price.

I'm not happy with these new play boosters. I've opened probably 20 packs of mh2 and only had one pack have 2 rares. Same with thunder junction I got maybe 2 or 3 packs that had more than 1 rare. It feels bad.

So that set icon in middle right. Black = Common / uncommon? Gold = Rare? Red = Mythic? But that first pack opened the last card had a BLUE icon, what rarity is that?

Coruscation Mage is uncommon. The foil turned the silver icon a bit blue. Silver means uncommon. You got the rest right.

Ahhh ok, thanks for the info. I stopped playing MTG back during the expansion where they first introduced multicolor cards, and have the 5 multi color dragons. (THINK it was around 98 or so). I tried to get back into Magic a few times after that, but lack of people who played always made it difficult. And that's a little sad to know it was only a silver, I'd thought Paul and Morgan just missed something cool / higher rarity or something.

Love this set all the damn critters are awesome !! Morgan must be over the moon from all the squirrels 🐿️ So the play boxes don’t give out any special guests often not sure how often the variants show up in these
