the real one is mix it all that topping, i mean the "special" one, cheese for base, then chocolate sprinkle on top of that cheese, then grind peanut on top of that chocolate and sesame seeds on top of that ... even i prefer double cheese in that lol...for the chese they're mostly using parmesan, just little using mozzarella

@@marklehmann suggestion for you guys, place your uneaten martabak into your refrigerator all nite, and in the morning when the martabak is become cold, place it in the plate to warm that in the microwave for 5 minutes...or you can prefer cold martabak for breakfast (both my fav but if i gotta choose, i choose the warm one)...oh btw i eat that 1 package for my own lol

Jakarta's holy grail of martabak is actually the Pecenongan 65a and they used probably the best toppings and ingredients. Pecenongan is the name of the street where that most famous martabak in Indonesia can be found so you can find it. They don't have any franchises and only exists in one place. If you plan to go there, its best if you check its open or closed due to Covid. Also, they are very expensive compared to the regular martabak. Using butter is also better because it gives the better smell and healthier than margarine. The most common combinations are Chocolate+cheese together and also chocolate and sesame seed with nuts sometimes You should also try the salty Martabak and use duck eggs because duck eggs have richer flavor than chickens.

@@marklehmann Remember, duck eggs on salty martabak. Btw, if you have chances to try Non-Indonesian food in Indonesia. You might not enjoy them as much as foods in Europe but they are great for the experience. They are pretty different compared to the food in the west. It might be like eating Chinese food in America which is different to usual food. So if you want to take a break from Indonesian food, you should try these restaurants: Frankfurter in Muara Karang, they are the most Indonesian western food I know. They got great bastardized pasta and hotdogs and they are one of the best value western food I know. However, I am not sure how the sausages are compared to the German's. One of their special menu is uovo pancetta which is pasta with salted egg sauce and the hotdog's black buns are crispier skin and softer than normal buns. Reminder, their spicy is Indonesian level spicy. Sushi Masa in Pantai Mutiara, they have the best sushi in Jakarta. They have impressed Japanese people in the past. Gandy Steak House in Jl. Hayam Wuruk. Its one of the most historical steakhouse in Jakarta. Angke restaurant is where you can get great Chinese food and one of the few restaurant chain beloved by Chinese Indonesian. Another food that you should try is the seafood. Indonesian seafood is very different compared to the western seafood. You should try crab with Padang sauce which is somewhat similar to the Singaporean chili crab without the Singaporean chili crab price(They are too expensive. There is Pulau Sentosa in Sunter area and also Bandar Djakarta in Bay Walk Mall and Ancol you can try. Good luck

All that butter, condensed milk n white sugar is just not a healthy choice, even as dessert. We prefer the savory one (martabak telur)., coz it's got some greens n is served with cucumber. pickles on the side. We eat it maybe just once a month, not too often.hope u had a nice stay in jkt.
