Babymetal is the first Japanese band to break the top 100 in the world.

This is the video that went viral over ten years ago so is often the first one selected by reviewers. It's actually the studio recording dubbed over a live performance. The backing band, Babybones, were miming to a backing track at the actual show. Later that same show the Kami band, some of Japan's finest musicians, came on and were the support instrumentalists for all shows going forward. From 2019 The Kami Band of The West (American musicians) were also added to the line up and have supported them regularly ever since. GMC is a fun song which either draws people in or puts them off. I'd recommend finding a true live performance to see why Babymetal are the most popular Japanese band internationally.

Here are some fun facts about this song and the group 1. Gimme Chocolate was named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years 2. Dragon Force performed this song with BabyMetal 3. The Red Hot Chili Pepper performed this song with them. 4. They are buds with Metallica and Slipknot 5. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's video 6. They performed the Judas Priest classics Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest 7. They are the only Asian group to ever hit #1 on Billboards Top Rock chart. 8. BabyMetal and Black Pink are the only albums by girl groups in history to enter the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Albums Year End Chart. 9. In a recent interview Corey Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal" 10. In 2015 Vogue Magazine Japan named them Women of The Year. As for what to watch next: 1. Head Banger - Legend of 1997 - your will have to change your entire concept of audience reaction. Your headphones will fly off your head. 2. Road of Resistance Live in Japan - Generally considered one of the finest recordings of a live performance ever by anyone. 3. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero When Metallica saw them live they said they were astonished by their awesomeness

In 2010, it all started from BABYMETAL. When they first appeared, metalheads criticized them as being gimmicks and they had things (like bottles) thrown at them, but they continued with strong convictions (with smiles on their faces by the way) believing that metal did not always need to be negative and dark. ALL their songs are positive (never blame anyone in any of their songs). When they were still 13, 12, they appeared on TV and when asked what their future goals may be, they said,"World Domination." which critics hated since they had not been performing abroad. Now get this: in 2023, they performed 97 live shows in 25 countries - most sold out fast. I was at three of them: Japan, US, Spain. I was twirling a towel and running around in the circle pit in Japan, and I was 74 years old at the time. After BABYMETAL, I have listened (and gone to live show) for BAND-MAID and think they are great, listen to Lovebites, Mary's Blood... and many others, but have returned mainly to BABYMETAL. They always make me smile and keep a positive attitude. 🦊🦊🦊

Great reaction, and welcome to Babymetal! Don’t let these adorable tiny humans fool you, they go hard haha. And, these gals are 14-year industry veterans who paved the way for all the other bands you reacted to. This video is from Legend 1997 concert in Dec 2013 celebrating lead Su-metal’s 16th birthday. Their name is actually a play on words in Japanese: Heavy metal: ヘビーメタル (Hebīmetaru) Babymetal: ベビーメタル (Bebīmetaru) Babymetal can be fun and goofy, but also serious and somber. Be sure to experience them live, which is their natural habitat. A brief list of suggestions: *Road of Resistance (Pia Arena MM 2023):* Epic power metal anthem. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* Heartfelt and emotional. *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* If you want your Slipknot with a side of Kawaii. *Ratatata (Official MV):* 50/50 Collab with German band Electric Callboy. Released last week, and already 5.5M views and trending around KZbin’s top 20. Fun party banger of the summer. Look forward ti more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Babymetal is a legendary group. They invented a new genre and inspired lots of japanese groups after them, they killed every big arena (Budokan, Tokyo Dome etc.) when they were literally kids/teens, they played and collaborated with huge western groups, they were and still are the biggest japanese act in the West, they are simply legendary. Please react to more songs and performances from them, they have combined metal with like dozens of other genres and have an amazing discography.

Their older songs were very kawaii/cute since 1. the girls were 11-13 years old when they formed the group in 2010, and 2. Su-metal, the lead singer, even says in an interview that they wanted to make metal music that young girls could relate to. So they had songs like "Doki Doki Morning" (2011), their very first song, being about getting up and getting ready (I believe for school), "Uki Uki Midnight" which is about a girls sleepover and getting full on snacks, "Headbangerrrrr" which is about a 15 year old girl going to her first metal concert, "Gimme Chocolate" about wanting chocolate but worried about her weight, and "Catch Me If You Can" which is about playing tag, or hide and seek with a Japanese ogre, just to give a few examples. As BABYMETAL got older, their music and topics matured as well, which is definitely noticeable on their last 2 albums "Metal Galaxy" (2019) and "The Other One" (2023). 🤘🦊🤘

BABYMETAL is the most unique metal experience in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, their style, and everything that surrounds them visually and backing Babymetal for live shows are an incredible band "The Kami Band". They’re so passionate about metal but music in general they know everything about the metal music discography after watching Metallica perform on stage. Babymetal created a new sub genre of metal call "Kawaii Metal" or Cute Metal. Babymetal created a very special feeling, and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young, teenagers, middle age to old school metalheads. Babymetal may not be on everyone's metier but if you don't like it's ok. Babymetal paves the way for other Japanese 🇯🇵 bands to be recognized worldwide. BABYMETAL may not be everyone Forte but respect them. This video was taken in 21 December 2013 at the "Makuhari Messe" with BABYMETAL original trio comprises of Suzuka Sakamoto aka Su-Metal, Moa Kikuchi aka Moametal and Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal. Nice reaction :) Gimme Chocolate was my introduction to BabyMetal and, to be honest, I wasn't really sold on them but I couldn't get the lead singers voice out of my head. So I went back and watched 'Headbanger!!!' from the Legend of 97 concert (97 was the year the lead singer, Su was born and she'd just turned 16 the day before) and I was totally blown away! That's my suggestion for your next song. They've been at it for 10+ years, have 4 studio albums, 70+ songs and a ton of live material. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole - and don't let this song fool you, they go as deep as any when they want to.🦊 It was BABYMETAL who opened the doors to the world for all those other bands you've been watching to peep through ... and it was BABYMETAL's quality and originality that impressed people around the world so much that they also thought it may be worth looking back through those open doors to see what else Japan might have and wondered if it could be anywhere near as brilliant and entertaining as BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre (which is why they are called BABYMETAL - it signifies that they invented their own sub-genre, a new style of metal ... it is also a bit of a Japanese pun with BABYMETAL and heavy metal sounding and being written almost identically) and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings. They formed in 2010, Su-metal the lead singer was 12 and the whole concept was formed around her vocal talents and stage presence (again this song really doesn't begin to show what she can do). Her two younger friends Yuimetal (up to October 2017, she left in October 2018 because of poor health) and Moametal (and since April last year Momometal) provide backing vocals, harmonies and most importantly they get the crowd involved with their choreo - Yui and Moa were both 11 in 2010. 'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs, this is the video that got them noticed before they started touring the world in 2014 ... it is not one of their deepest or best songs (by a long way), but it is often the first thing people hear from them. Sadly it is the often only thing a lot of people hear and they judge them on this one song. They have missed out on the best musical entertainment I've found in many decades of listening to and enjoying all sorts of music (mainly but not exclusively rock and metal). BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some (like this) lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal ... and as I said, the whole thing was formed and developed around the lead singer's vocal talents - this song really doesn't even begin to show how incredibly versatile and talented she is.🦊 You already have some far better suggestions in the comments below. Give them a try - you will be surprised and just maybe you will see how and why BABYMETAL are internationally the biggest and most successful of all the Japanese bands.

You didn't disappoint, other than I would argue Gimmie Chocolate is their best song. Without that song, we probably wouldn't even know Babymetal. I also think it shows most sides of Babymetal. Musically, I don't think I have heard that many songs as tight as this song is. I do have a question though. I thought the girls started in a Japanese Idol singing and dance group, Sakura Gakuin. And as a joke, they were going to do a metal song with some the most amazing metal musicians in Japan at the time. And, that after doing the song they realized how good it was they decided to continue.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥 They were rocking out the whole World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone were having a blast with the setlist, the new songs from latest album and the classic hits, especially GC! either you hate or love it, it's a song with crazy amount of views and they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist just like they did last weekend at FOX_FEST Festival. They also recently released a new collab along with Electric Callboy that is blowing up and they played it together at the same festival i mentioned before, so come back with that reaction if you want to enjoy another super fun song while is hot and with the already mature formation. Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal (you got it right), mixing Jpop and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey. This isn't actually live sound, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance but they're not official members, only these trio are the front women. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._ The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later. Not only they got a wide range in musical style but also when dancing, but if you wanna see a clear Para Para Dancing choreo you got songs such Iine! official MV (take note isn't Line, is iine with a capital i) Some recommendations for next songs like: - _"Road Of Resistance"_ live in Japan official. - _Megitsune_ official MV. - _Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!_ live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas channel under "Head Bangya" title). You have more than 60 songs to discover. Amuse their label is very hard to deal so if you want to avoid copyright blocked you have "Babymetal Reactor Resource" channel where you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time! 🦊🤘🍫

One song CANNOT define what Babymetal is. They go thru different eras in their career. The early years, like this video, their first album, were their preteen and cutesy years. When they were kids. They're second album, although still cute in some songs, was much more mature, sonically as well as lyrically. Their third album was their most experimental, combining international sounds like Indian, Celtic and Latin into their music, as well as a harder darker side to Babymetal. Their fourth album is almost entirely Prog metal. No cutesy anywhere to be found. Their most mature album yet. But most recently they have been doing a lot of fun collaborations with other artists, with a mixture of festive traditional sounds (METALI w/Tom Morello), heavy metalcore (Kingslayer w/ Bring Me The Horizon), Thai rock and rap (Leave it all Behind w/Body Slam and F. Hero). And their latest, and imo, best of them all, techno party metal (Ratatata w/Electric Callboy). You have no idea what you've stepped into. This will be a journey like no other.

Nice first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, and a few days ago they released the music video for "RATATATA" which is a collab with Electric Callboy! 🤘🦊🤘

True Babynmetal fans would not yell at you, they would educate you :) The name babymetal came about because they are a fussion of J-Pop and Metal forming a new (Baby) genre called Kawaii (cute) Metal. And to mirror another comment this show was the day after the lead singer Su turned 16. Moan and Yui are only 14. This video goiing Viral got Babymetal invited to Sonisphere in Englang the following year where they performed in front of an estimated 60k people. Thier songs are all over the spectrum though, from pop to edm, beautiful ballads. They have worked with Jaokim Broaden (Sabaton) F. Hero and Bodyslam (Thai Artists), there is even a clip of Su singing with Rob Halpert of Judas Priest. If you wish to continue your journey down the foxhole my recconmendations are Road of Resistance *Live in Japan) or Metal Kingdom PIA Arena for starters

Gimme Chocolate was a phenomenon when it came out and their first viral video but it hardly shows what Babymetal is really about. Honestly, I wish it was not the video people recommend as a first introduction to Babymetal. The cultural zeitgeist was different ten years ago. The show that really put Babymetal on the musical map was their show at Sonisphere 2014. There was talk about them and that buzz bumped them up from a smaller stage to the main stage. They ended up becoming the artist with the most sold merch for that festival. By the time Babymetal was done with their set, you can hear the crowd chanting. "One More Song!" and "We Want More!". Babymetal is probably unlike any other band you have encountered so far because unlike Band-Maid or Nemophila, Babymetal are an idol group that does metal, rather than being like a conventional band. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that Babymetal are THE idol metal group, because they are by the far most famous and successful exponents of this style, and the most famous Japanese metal act. If you're unfamiliar with idol, it's sort of like the Japanese equivalent of K-pop; the performers are singers and dancers, and the instruments are handled by their backing band. Babymetal started in 2010, when lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), and backing vocalists and dancers Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) were 12, 11, and 11 years old respectively. The group was created by their producer Kobametal (Key Kobayashi), who wanted to revitalize interest in metal music in Japan and thought that combining metal with J-pop would be a good way to make metal more approachable. Babymetal began as a side project of the teen J-pop idol group Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy), but gained such popularity that they were spun off to become an independent act in 2013 when Sumetal graduated from Sakura Gakuin. Since then, they have released four albums: Babymetal (2014), Metal Resistance (2016), Metal Galaxy (2019), and their most recent album The Other One (2023). Although it may appear seemingly self explanatory, the name "Babymetal" does not relate to their young ages when the group started, it actually has two other meanings. The first is that Babymetal represents the birth of a new style of metal music that they call 'kawaii metal' (cute metal), which blends the vocals, choreography, and aesthetics of J-pop with heavy metal music. The second meaning is a Japanese play on words of the terms "heavy metal" and "baby metal". In Japanese, 'heavy metal' is written as ヘビーメタル (hebimetaru), while "baby metal" is written as ベビーメタル (bebimetaru). As you can see, they look almost identical, and they sound almost identical when spoken too. Su-metal is the main vocalist for obvious reasons, and Yuimetal and Moametal do backing vocals and dances. Yuimetal sadly had to retire from Babymetal in 2018 due to illness, and her position in their dance formation was been filled by one of three backup dancers (Riho Sayashi, Kano Fujihira, and Momoko Okazaki) called the 'Avengers' from 2019-2023. In April 2023, one of the Avengers Momoko Okazaki officially became the new third member of Babymetal and was awarded the name "Momometal". When Babymetal performs live, they are supported by a backing band made up of top session musicians that is known as the 'Kami Band' (god/spirit band). The lineup of the Kami band varies, and they usually perform masked so that its not obvious that it's different people, however the Kami Band tends to be made up of the same performers most of the time. There are actually two Kami Bands, one made up of Japanese musicians, known by fans as the Kami Band of the East, and one made up of American musicians, known as the Kami Band of the West. Any other instruments you hear are on a backtrack. Its worth noting that the Kami Band DO NOT play on the studio recordings, they only perform at live shows. In 2023, Babymetal undertook a 94 show, 25 country world tour to promote their newest album "The Other One", visiting countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, and touring with Sabaton and Dethklok along the way. Babymetal play at all the big metal festivals, including the upcoming Hellfest, Resurrection Fest, GrasPop, and a bunch of others, and they recently played Sick New World in Las Vegas. When they aren't playing massive festivals, they are collabing with some of the biggest names in metal such as Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Tom Morello, Polyphia, and just recently Electric Callboy. Babymetal are legendary for their epic theatrical live performances, which is why we always recommend to react to their live shows, since they really shine when they are interacting with a live audience. A suggestion for what to watch next: "Megitsune" Live @ PIA Arena MM 2023 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5XFooRjocl5lbc

I'm sorry that you are, only now, discovering BabyMetal!! They have been performing since 2010! This show is from 2014, so it's already 10 years old! At that time, after four years of performances, they already brought together audiences of 40 thousand people! This is an "OLD" video and was made to reach more diverse audiences, but I hope you watch it too now that you know the harder videos. Give preference to live performance videos, which is where they shine!

The normal first time reaction to Babymetal: 1. WTF?!? 2. What the HELL am I listening to?!?! 3. This is kind of legit 4. Holy Crap! 5. Is there more? I've been listening to metal since the 80's and Babymetal makes me happy. Rob Halford of Judas Preist sand with them and loves the girls. Corey Taylor of Slipknot listens to them all the time. Rob Zombie says the girls are more metal than the majority of the metal bands out there and put on a better show.

ありがとう!🦊 All of BABYMETAL's songs are so different that they can be described as different genres. However, they are all songs that are typical of BABYMETAL. Since they started out as a fusion of METAL and Japanese idol, in their early days, their songs have more of a J-POP and cuteness to them. I would appreciate it if you could listen to various songs of BM. In Japan, they are not so well known because they refuse to use advertising agencies and do not appear in the media at all. 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵

These young ladies are the reason you have been lucky enough to see the other Japanese female bands. Japan is the lead now when it comes to metal and hard rock, and it's all led by female frinted or all fe.ale bands. I can't get enough of them, and BabyMetal sits on top. When i first saw this video, i was completely confused, but i could not stop smiling. It is Jpop mixed with metal and this genre is Kawai Metal. They are in my top 5 bands of all time.

Thanks for this reaction, yes, Babymetal live is amazing. This song is their viral song, it doesn't really represent their talents as much. So I recommend checking out more songs. Babymetal is the best know of all these Japanese bands, but even Babymetal still has limited fame in Japan. But Babymetal is able to reach charts no other act from Japan (not just metal) can seem to do when it comes to albums. Hit singles they still have a hard time with reaching the charts in comparison. In part because of Japan is the second largest music industry in the world, but very much focused on it's domestic market, in part because of the language barrier of course. 3:52 tip: maybe work on volume levels a bit, I love my Babymetal loud and hard, but I also still want to enjoy them many many years to come. 🙂

Great fun song, especially live. You should see the mosh pits ! You either love it or hate it. This song, if you dislike it, can put you off anymore, BabyMetal reactions . That would be a shame because there's no one like them out there. When you are watching the usual Japanese female bands and reacting to them, i can not think why anyone would recommend GC as the first song to react to . I love the song, but as an introduction to BabyMetal bad choice . You said it in not so many words .you expected something like you already watched . BabyMetal, in my opinion, is the best live band in the world, and you should check out Road of Resistance live in Japan or the newer performance at PIA Arena. You got it right with Kawaii 😁 It's the genre they created, and it means cute metal . Baby in the name means a newborn genre 😁hope you react to more BabyMetal. The difference in success between them the other bands you mentioned is 10× the following than all of the other bands you mentioned combined, so they are doing something right 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Like an idol group on steroids. Genius combo of hyper cuteness with tremendous hard rocking music. In a big way BabyMetal opened a lot of doors to the West for other Japanese acts. Babymetal stands out for me because of the choreography and crowd engagement. Not playing instruments, and leaving that to the incredible musicians in the Kami Band, gives them the freedom and energy to dance and lead the crowd. Su is free to (mostly) sing because Moa and Yui do most of the dancing, and most importantly, lead and connect with the crowd. Watch Headbanger live at Legend 1997 or Catch Me If You Can at Budokan Black Night 2014 for good examples.

The group was originally a subset of a girl group know as Sakura gakuin formed in 2010 when the girls were 12/10 they were known as the Heavy music club back then. GC was on their first album released in 2014.

BINGO! You nailed it. I really do not care how people feel about Babymetal. All I want to hear is they acknowledge the pure and special talent by the girls to pull this kind of performance at 16-17 years old. BTW, for the lady reactor, if you dive deeper into the Babymetal discography, there are plenty of "serious" and darker (sounding) bangers. Try Ijike Dame Zettai, Tales of the Destinies, Sis Anger, Kagerou, Believing and the sickest of them all, Babymetal Death. And while you're at it, where available always react to live performances by Babymetal. As a live act, they are pretty f@kin special. Very few can command their audience attention like lead singer Su-metal..

People have got to stop recommending give me chocolate to new BabyMetal listeners lol. Listen, I'm a massive fan of theirs. I own a frankly, irresponsible quantity of their liveshow blurays and vinyls lol... And their early stuff was meant to bring over pop listeners to metal because at the time Metal was very antagonistic to female groups. They basically made their own genre. So If you want to a good measure of what babymetal is, I'd recommend three songs (All live recorded) Metal Kingdom PIA Arena 2023 4k w/ English Subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/hajMfKCPe5hse8k BABYMETAL - PA PA YA!! On average, across all reactors, the average number of BM reaction videos is just over 1 per reactor. The primary culprit is Gimme Choco. At best when someone is receptive, you may get two reactions from them, and the number of reactors that do more just drops exponentially. This is why people going forward need to reassess what they want to promote. Do they want to promote nostalgia of a group that no longer exists as they remember it or the actual group as it exists? With the former, they aren't doing any favors to BM, just feeding their own the nostalgia. BABYMETAL didn't just magically approve the upload of the entirety of their two most recent Blu-rays to YT for no reason at all.

Using 3 girls from Amuse (a successful company that schools children to become popstars) with a backing band the group started out small but quickly grew into a music phenomenon. This song was their breakout song world wide. Now they are one of Japan's biggest acts. Their concerts in Japan are beyond epic.

As the name of the group suggests, Baby Metal is based on the concept of children singers and dancers singing and dancing metal. Singer + dancer was the focus of attention, but at the time, the backing group "Kami Band" was a group of world-class performers. Please also pay attention to the performance ability of the "God Band" of each song from this era. (using translation software)

The best Metal song ever about wanting to eat chocolate! 🦊🤘🤘🦊This was a classic concert of theirs (from over a decade ago) and the finale - BABYMETAL DEATH - is one of the most Metal endings to a show I've ever seen. Which is crazy as this was SuMetal's 16th birthday party, basically. Their genre, which their producer invented, is Kawaii Metal (Cute Metal) and they make you headbang and smile with joy every time. Try a performance like IJIME, DAME ZETTAI live at Sonisphere ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6csi=ihqKHNFyMyh_2CVV ) to see their proper band, The Kami Band, slamming out very highly skilled Metal music. They are unique and there is a wealth of superb performances and MV's out there. BUT...beware as their record company can be very quick to block reactions, though they have been more relaxed the last couple of years.

Babymetal is most successful of the Japanese groups you have listened to. They once had a two night concert in the Tokyo Dome, 50,000 each night. Band-Maid and Nemophila have done big venues (Yokohama Arena and the Budokan, respectively) but those venues are about 10,000-15,000. This video put them on the map but the pop part is really light-weight. "Megitsune" from this early period is a more sophisticated song. Which, by the way, Nemophila has a cover of on their channel. You should leap forward and check out their latest, including their collab with Electric Callboy "Ratatata" and the piano version of Monochrome on the First Take KZbin channel. The lead singer Su-metal, Suzuka Nakamoto, comes from a musical family. Her older sister Himeka Nakamoto was a founding member of the idol group Nogizaka46, and their father was a bassist in a rock band.

I want to tell you who these girls are and how they ended up in Babymetal. Suzuka (lead vocal) is a true singing fanatic. She loves to sing and cannot imagine life without singing. she was a singer before Babymetal. She sang on TV and in theatrical musicals. She dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood and studied singing professionally at an early age. (7 years old) One day she came to an idol show, where her talent was noticed by a producer. He thought that she could sing to heavy music. So she received an offer to become a vocalist in Babymetal (at that time it did not exist yet. It was a sub-club of heavy music) The other two girls (Moa and Yui) came to the same show as Suzuka. It's funny that they were Suzuki fans because they saw her on TV. They became very friendly with each other and with Suzuka. They did not have serious vocal training as Suzuka, but they danced well. They were the same height and their voices blended well. Therefore, the producer invited them to become part of Babymetal. They had to dance and sometimes sing backing vocals. These girls were good friends even before Babymetal. This helped them overcome difficulties together. And perhaps it played a role. Suzuka once said in an interview that her dreams of becoming a singer have come true so much that sometimes she even feels uneasy.

Thanks for the reaction, nice to see you discover Babymetal. Their name was fitting back at their debut when they were between 10 and 12 years old. Now they're in their mid-20s, not really about the cute/kawaii anymore and more like a pop/metal fusion, but they're still sticking with the 'Babymetal' name and still singing great. If you liked Babymetal, you should check out Ladybaby, specifically their song 'Nippon Manju'. This was when Babymetal was getting very popular, and Ladybaby pushed the cute-metal idea to even further extremes. You won't easily forget the experience. The band split up a few years ago but individual members still continue making music (notably 'Pump Up Japan' with their new band Deadlift Lolita).
