The Hindu festival of Thaipusam is celebrated on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Thai. Thaipusam is a thanksgiving festival held in honour of the Hindu Deity Lord Murugan. Devotees seek blessing and fulfil their vows by carrying milk pots as offerings. Many also carry kavadis.
