There's another great version of this tune that was sung by Billy Stewart be sure to checkout his version of it. That song was written in 1934 by Gershwin. Probably one of the most covered songs in history.

@@1982nsu Reuben, Bobby did Not die of a cocaine overdose!! He died of a massive heart attack. He and Bill flew into the city, and Bill says in his book that Bobby looked very bad. He just wanted to go to his room and have his dinner before the show. He was found on his bed with the TV remote in his hand. No drugs in the room. The press went away disappointed because their was no scandal. Bill worked with him for over 40 years. He saw no evidence of drug abuse. H said he would done some intervention. The best evidence is Bobby himself. Every performance over more than 40 years. Perfect. Never missed a note or a beat. Clear eyed, steady, flawless. Drugs? Nope! Just reporting by people who wanted sensationalism or...plain jealousy.

"Soul" has no color, you either have it or you don't...And it is evident that The Righteous Brothers have plenty of "Soul" running through their veins that it dripped out of their pores (as James Brown would say) that it would make them break-out in a "Cold-Sweat!!!" Mic Drop!!! 🎤

Bobby was amazing. A counter- tenor, no falsetto here. Besides the Big Three, their most reacted to, there are so many great ones. Ebb Tide byBobby. . Brown eyed Woman by Bill. I Just wanna Make Love To You. Bill leads on that one. It'll blow you away. Very bluesy. You must hear Bobby's "Stay With Me" recorded when he was older. The raw emotion and feeling these two projected in their music was very real. Duo or solo, they were amazing!

Thats true. Bobby explaint it in the andy williams show from 1965 - before he sung unchained melody.
@CjJohnson-kf1oz
@CjJohnson-kf1oz 2 ай бұрын
There was more to it than that,but basically the truth. Everything they said to Andy W. was a comedy routine. Some people even thought Bill was telling the truth about thinking Unchained Melody was not going to be a hit. Hogwash. Bill wrote a book you know and I'm sure the real story is in the book. Haven't bought my copy yet. But I did hear him tell real story in an interview. Most all performers on those old variety shows had a little comedy routine during introductions. And the audience gave rapt attention during the talent with applause AFTER. The screaming and carrying on started with Elvis and continues today. Although it was 1940s when girls were acting crazy for Sinatra...but evidently they were paid to do so.Or so I've read and my Mama said.

Your explanation comes from the comedy routine they did during introductions on Andy Williams show....it's true,kinda. Bill tells the real extended story in an interview on utube and I'm sure it is in the book he wrote about his and Bobby's life. Haven't read it yet. I wondering Bill will address the unbelievable tragedy in his own life. Not long after divorce from first wife she was murdered by a serial killer It was a cold case for 25-30 ?years.
