This song was the love theme for the movie Con Air. The producers thought she was too young to do justice to such a deep song and picked an older artist to do the song for the movie. But LeAnn connected so much to the song that she released her own version (this) that blew the other version out of the water!

I think they both were great but Trisha had a gravitas to hers. I also (like others have said) didn’t love “how do I leeeave without you” and “without choo”. Drives me nuts. But I do adore LeAnn in all other of her songs. She was on The Masked Singer, too.

If you compare the two songs which you obviously have they’re both great but Trisha Yearwood version is a better song and proof is all the awards it won compared to the Lee and rhymes version.

Number of awards doesn't mean better it just means popular especially with most U.S. award shows. Alison Krauss has 27 grammy's and Dolly Parton has like 11 that doesn't make Alison better than Dolly.

Leann recorded this song in March 1997, she was 14 years-old. Other great Leann songs are Commitment, Nothin' Bout Love Makes Sense, Now I Do Love You, Can't Fight the Moonlight, I Need You, Life Goes On. She's got a great version of the Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody, Ottis Reddings These Arms of Mine, Prince's Purple Rain is a knockout, and live version of Hank Williams I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry - also at 14 years old. Oh and You Light Up My Life (Debbie Boone). I see that you also reacted to Blue. Also her acappella version of Amazing Grace will blow you away.

Her record company was so cold blooded. She was only 15 years old and they gave this song to Trish Yearwood too. They both released it and because she was so young they promoted Yearwood's version as the official version. Le Ann's version was the fan favorite.

Years ago, while living in Garland Texas, where Leann is/was from, I meant her. I worked at an Albertsons grocery store as a cashier there. The management allowed her to park her tour bus in the parking lot during the holiday season. Well she and a small entourage, came through my line one evening. I knew she was someone famous, but I couldn't place her. She was very friendly towards me, smiling the entire time. After she was finished, I happened to see a country music magazine behind me, with her photo on the cover. That's when I realized who she was...

A beautiful song sung by a beautiful woman. Her voice is just amazing. I feel that this song can mean other things other than being romantically in love. To me it reminds me of my best friend who passed away last year. He and I were always just best friends, nothing romantic. I loved him so much and miss him every day. He was a huge LeAnn fan, so it makes sense this song touches me. I did not think I would survive when he passed. I felt like I could not breathe, was in tears constantly, miserable. So this song was like me asking him "How Do I Live Without You?" Time healed the pain, but never the memory.
