RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.
RE: LIVE VERSIONS vs STUDIO:

Funnily enough, they actually don’t have a bass player. It’s two guitarists and a drummer and both guitarists use 7-8 string guitars so they can get really low and detune their instruments.

They exclusively use 8 strings actually and the lowest they downtune is about drop E. Only 7 strings are the classic guitars they have.

Animals as Leaders has become one of my favorite bands as of late, I highly suggest y’all check out the rest of this album, whether on camera or not. So many bangers here! Edit: love the comparison to Tool and Infected Mushroom, that’s such a perfect analogy! Never thought about it that way but it fits really well 🔥 Second edit: if you want specific recommendations, “The Woven Web”, “Mind Spun”, “Tooth and Claw” and “Para Mexer” off this album are some of my favorites but if you’re willing, just go through the whole album! Every track has something unique to offer and I always recommend this album to any music fans I meet. Happy listening!

I hear you, sd. I used to own this album. Airto and Flora were a great pair - I loved them even though some friends thought she was “pitchy.” If I had unlimited requests, I would help. @@michelemichele3375 hey thanks I know they've listened to some of your requests. I guess coffee is the way to go. I'm not sure what your friends mean by pitchy. That CD is getting a little hard to find but if you can find it you should give it another listen I still own the vinyl myself. It's really funny that we spend some of our time watching other people listen to music. I have always gotten off on turning younger people onto music of the 60s and 70s. So I guess this is just an updated way of getting that vicarious thrill. I'm a huge yes fan and have seen them live 34 x spanning 40 years. Seeing Nick and Lex reaction recently to Close to the Edge did my heart good.

Part of the contentious "Djent" genre (lots of Instrumental bands that led up to the Djent bands too). Here is where that term comes from: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djent (be sure to see Link to list of bands) Here are some Instrumentalists you may like :) . . . kzbin.info/aero/PL2DU3TBNutEd5qv7FfIMdWsOxxzKET2nn (With a few of those pre-Djent bands in the middle. Also, next "parts" are linked in the description)

@mvunit3
@mvunit3 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, So yeah, "Djent" is a contentious genre (for "being" an actual genre, or those that don't care for it). I'm VERY picky on these type of bands. It comes to a point that they all start sounding alike, too similar. AaL is pretty unique and creative with their riffs, as well-as TesseracT which I HIGHLY recommend hearing their debut album "One", and then their next albums (which sound less harsh, though I like the heaviness of the debut). There were a lot of _pre-Djent_ bands too that were the precursors (hear the bands in the middle of the playlist): kzbin.info/aero/PL2DU3TBNutEd5qv7FfIMdWsOxxzKET2nn And supposedly, Meshuggah coined the phrase "Djent" (or as my Brazilian friend once called "Jugu Music": jugujugujugujugu :p): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djent But here is drummer (or the "Machine") Tomas Haake from Meshuggah denying they came-up with the term: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZKkaoZ8ptaGpaM AND SPEAKING OF MESHUGGAH :D! . . . One day . . . ONE DAY . . . if its before or after *Fates Warning* . . . Meshuggah - "Future Breed Machine", for the Holdsworth lover in you Nick. It may SCARE the average listener, piss-off the (fellow) Prog Rockers and your neighbors (maybe even Lex :p), but this was my 1st exposure to them in 1995 and made me a fan for life. I KNOW YOU HAVE THAT METAL HEART IN YOU Nick . . . so I think it will be something new for you \m/.
