I’ve got a bit of extra advice with fakes from my experience. 1) the print on the back should not stop on the edge and look continuous, but on fakes there is a line/ridge from where the fake pin cast would stop. 2) If the pin has hidden Mickeys they are often fake 3) if they are not smooth or they are discoloured then they are fake. 4) if it’s not fully coloured or filled in it will most likely be fake . I’ve previously got snow whites with one lip not coloured. 5) most fake pins are the same designs or bunch of designs these often are: puffles, wilderness explorer pins, cup cakes, donuts, tsum tsums, generally they are the type (style) of pins that come in mystery packs 6) fake pins are often light or have sharp edges as they are not properly smooth. 7) if they look distorted e.g. wonky eyes or missing features they’re generally not going to be real 8) Most importantly never buy in bulk from external sources e.g. amazon as they are scrapper/traders even if they say they aren’t. Not all these qualify (except no.8) for all fakes and some real pins have some of these flaws. It’s just a case of being careful. Good luck traders!

I’m really confused with the whole pin trading idea. I’ve got some old pins but no idea the ‘value’ of them. I looked at the October pin list. But are they to buy or just to trade? I saw a stitch limited edition one that I would like but I’d have to reserve a place but didn’t know if I’d have to buy it or trade it?

I had the same experience on my recent trip! I did my first ever trade with a cast member and when I visited the trading post the cast member there told me it was a fake! :( Now I’m much more aware of fake pins so hopefully it won’t happen again! I also just wanted to say I love your channel and videos!! 💖

What about pins that do have the C-disney logo (as they are officially licensed by Disney), but do not have the pin trading stamp? For example pins by loungefly or similar companies. I believe these can be traded in the US parks as long as they have the C-disney logo. What about in Paris??

I have about 100 pins, yet I've only ever traded once, which was in Shanghai Disneyland. I just love the pins I buy so much, I don't want to part with them, so I may have to follow your idea to buy ones I don't really like, then trade those

@@SeeYouInMainstreet aah leuk zeg, die pooh-set! Nou, ik zit op Facebook bij een groepje (Disney pintrading holland). Soms komen daar pins in de verkoop, dan kun je "mystery bags" kopen. Deze mensen hebben er over het algemeen best wat verstand van en weten ook of ze echte of neppe pins wegdoen. Deze mensen willen echter liever geen scrappers verkopen dus vaak zit dat wel goed. En dan koop ik dus 5 voor 15 euro ofzo, afhankelijk van de aanbieder. Aangezien ik ze niet zelf uitkies heb ik er geen binding mee en kan ik de pins waar ik niet direct verliefd op word gewoon ruilen! Of zoals jullie in deze vlog doen: starterspakket kopen van karakters waar je geen pins van hoeft en ruilen maar!! Veel plezier met ruilen en sparen!

Super leuke video! ik ben me aan het voorbereiden op mijn reisje in november naar DLP met kerstsfeer. Nou ben ik als kind heel veel geweest en als volwassene 2x, maar toen niet in een Disney hotel en in november wel in een Disney hotel. Nou krijg ik dus voor het eerst extra magic hours(oftwel hour want het is maar 1 uur.) Ik kan alleen niet echt ergens vinden welke attracties er open zijn in de studios of in het park zelf? Hebben jullie hier een recente video over?(ik heb ze volgens mij allemaal al gezien). Of gaan jullie die nog maken? Ik ben heel benieuwd welke attracties zijn er open? my strategy is to buy the cheapest pins and trade them with a cast member for ones that are more expensive and I buy only one or two that I see and like for example a 25 years pin badge or one of the hotel that I am staying in

That was fun. I've never attempted pin trading. I think I'd get too attached to the pins I like and not want to swap them. I might buy a few to keep though. The orange bird one is cute. I believe he is a Disneyland figure. He doesn't feature as much in other parks.

I didn't know there was a shop for pins in Frontierland. I can't find any information about it on the dlp website. What are the exact opening times if you can remember them? I'm going to Disneyland in March. At first I didn't really understood the hype around pins, but I'm buying pins now everywhere when I'm on holiday so I can decorate my makeup kit with it. I would love to do a bit of pin trading while in the park so I will have some new experiences of things to do in the park.

Hi Aine, You get get them in MOST shops. For instance in Emporium on Mainstreet in Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Store in Walt Disney Studios. There are various versions available (Collecting them is a hobby in it's own right) and which ones are were varies.

Kun je hieruit concluderen dat de pins op het bord goed gescreend zijn en dus 100% origineel zijn en dat je bij de cast members zelf alerter moet zijn? Hoi Marieke, inderdaad nog steeds goed uitkijken bij de borden. We hebben destijds ook super verzamelaars gesproken en die vergissen zich ook nog regelmatig. Er komt zo veel nep spul op de markt. Wij pin traden voor de gezelligheid en als een pin ons aantrekkelijk lijkt ruilen we die.

Yesterday a Castmember told me that they visit the shops during the week with the board of pins you find Satutdays / Sundays at El Pueblo, she was so kind to tell me which shops they would be going to visit Monday and Tuesday (18th & 19th of February) :-)
