You guys should check videos on how to spot fake pins, from the waffeling on the back to the pin nibs. On eBay people sell bulk for cheap and it kinda ruins it for a lot of people 😭

Here's a very good tip DO NOT TOUCH THE PINS of the cast members because it is quite disrespectful. this tip came from a cast member when i went to disneyland. BY THE WAY I LOVE YOUR VIDS.

Wow there are a lot more pin trading rules at Disneyland Paris then at regular Disneyland in California but it’s actually a good thing because it’s fair and at Disneyland Paris you are more likely to get real pins, because all the pins at Disneyland California are half the time fake when you see them on cast members lanyards or boards.

The problem at DLP is Cast Members often make up rules on the spot and won’t accept a pin that they don’t personally like (even when it’s an authentic pin in excellent condition). They can also carry their personal pins while working and effectively personally profit while on the job. I’m all for fakes getting weeded out but the other stuff is far too heavy handed.

I know people ask for pin trading videos, however most of the pins on the lanyards are most likely fake. From doing vast amounts of research you notice some that are everywhere like puffles, the explorer badge pins, the Star Wars ones, and like the figment and yeti one from the first cast member. The dull colours and hidden mickeys are red flags. If you’re happy with the pins then that is fine. It’s just rubbish if you spend loads of money on pins, that you then trade for scrappers.

I'm a pin collector and it's so awesome seeing this as I haven't been trading in the parks for a few years now but I'm going back in June. I found that a lot of the pins that are traded at the parks are fakes or scrappers though. There is some great videos on here to help spot fake pins, and also some pin groups on Facebook of people that can help out. :)

Do they still sell the mystery pin packages? I looked for them last time I was there, but couldn't find it in any shop. I wanted to get mystery pins for pin trading. So if I got one I likes I would keep it, and if not I would trade it. I also saw a couple of pin trading stands around the park and felt like I didn't see those before! Made me happy :)

It's very odd to me that the CMs here treat their lanyards as their own pins. Are those not provided by Disney? In the US, Disney provides CMs with the pin lanyards. Here it seems like they've brought their own pins from home. It's also odd that they're particular about trading vinylmation for vinylmation, and hidden mickey for hidden mickey, considering most of those were fake. Perhaps that's why they were particular about it. I like the LE for LE though, that's a great option I wish we had over here. Also, the retro Mickey head you traded for is from the Junk Food brand in America and was sold at Target here!

Mrs Banbury I know saw the pins on the first cast member and I’m like fake, fake, fake, then when Sven said the figment one my soul died a little as it’s a hidden Mickey, which is just a huge red flag. At least they didn’t waste huge amounts of money

I believe the first Mickey pin that you traded for came from America. A store in the U.S.A. called Target sold some official Disney pins that are ok for trading. I enjoyed your channel and subscribed, I hope you get to 10K soon.

Thanks for the video! Pin trading is very fun. We are in DLP last week. It was the first time since years, and we also addicted to pin trading. After a few video's we knew to spot fake ones. I can conform the most of the pins are fake! I really like the idea of pin trading, but unfortunately it will be limited through the much of fake. Benjamin from the trading boards is the best!

I have started collecting pins. I have never traded in the parks for fear of getting fake ones. My lanyard is full and I am telling myself I simply cannot keep buying them, but I have a thing for attraction pins and the next time I go I need a buzz attraction pin. I am just hopeless and each time I go I keep getting tons of them. My lanyard is totally full and I have a second lanyard I am working on. I have a cork board in the attic.... I am tempted to start putting them on there and hang it up. I just ordered myself a pin I have been eyeing for a while, a Carousel of Progress one from Disnyland. I am going to see if my daughter wants to do some trading with her lanyard at the end of January. She seems keen and she won't care if she gets fake ones, the art of the trade is what she is into I suspect. :)

The writing on that PhotoPass pin was Cantonese Chinese, not Japanese. That pin's from Hong Kong Disneyland as Japan doesn't do pin trading.

We are off to Disneyland in February. I haven't been since 2009. I'm a genius though (vain 😂) I've spent 10 years watching for pins on sale in the Disney store to trade. Actually surprised myself on checking how many limited edition pins I've ended up with. I'm am avid Stitch pin collector so hopefully I'll be able to trade my limited edition ones I'm not so keen on with Stitch limites edition ones I can cherish. So excited. I've got Mickey 2000 pins that look like the matrix code lol

I also look around the shops to buy the pins while I am over in Disneyland Paris and have a few and I am still looking (as I love the attraction pins) for Space Mountain Pin ( the fantastic DLP ride - best ride in any theme park) and I just could not find one, the last time I went. Hi guys, can I ask... Do you find the rubber pin backs are secure enough? My son bought me a pin from Anaheim earlier this year and we have now purchased DLP infinity passes for 2020. The plan is to put all Star Wars pins on my lanyard but I’m wary of those rubber backs as don’t want to lose any. Also do you get the black infinity lanyard with your pass? Not seen them before and we don’t pick up our passes until we visit in Jan. Many thanks and all the best for 2020 👍🏼
