@@kauaakauraisa1375 good day, I refer to SDA because they are. My comment was not referred to ‘abstinence for marriage’ I was speaking in general. I’ve been Adventist for two years and counting, I’m speaking from experience I had with SDA’s... Protestants/Remnant church all that. When the Lord revealed the he Sabbath to me... I was willing to learn. Started attending church on Saturdays... SDA’s treated me like an outcast, they ridiculed me because it was evident I came from a Sunday church... they held it over my head; they talked to me like i dont know God.. they always asked rhetorical questions like I’m a fool, just because of the books (spirit of prophecies), they are the remnant church and so-called Protestants. They behaved as if they went to Jerusalem High. Every Friday I would go on Fasten for God to give me the strength to face them... I should never be in a state of fear to enter the house of God, and it reached a point where I would volunteer in the church... decision were made that I should not be volunteering because of my Sunday background, (and God was the one who instructed me to do such thing in the church)... One day my patience ran out and I had to leave ; this did not happened once, it happened at small groups and churches. 5 in total. So when I say IGNORANT SDAs I’m not being disrespectful. You do have ignorant ones, who projects their beliefs on you and if you don’t receive it, they rebuke you. I stayed far away SDA’s for 3 years... but I never loose my faith- just stayed home and watch Pastor Henriques from Save to Serve Intl. and visits an SDA community church now and then. I discovered Zhara from one of my Law friends at uwi and from then I was hooked and I was in awe never knew Young and Faithful SDA’s existed. THEY GIVE ME HOPE AND I PRAY THAT GOD WILL BLESS THEM BOTH ON THEIR JOURNEY WITH GOD.

But as a single mom trying to raise two kids by myself I truly encourage all those who are firm believers of no sex before marriage stick by it. I never dreamed I would be a single parent but now 49 I believe I’m reaping what I’ve sown and that’s why I’m still alone. My kids are now thriving adults but the pain I endured raising them in this cold world still exist.

It's really true that much more could be done (especially as a church) in terms of having open conversations with young people about waiting and what to do when the emotions run high. It was just yesterday that a friend of mine (who is at pastor in CJC) sent me a zoom link to a rap session that MAYFED was having on "Dealing with urges while waiting". I hope these kinds of rap sessions can be spread across JAMU. The BEST thing to do is wait until marriage and I endorse that 100%....that can't be exchanged for anything else (it's 2nd to none). However, like Zhara implied, for those who might have gone that way before, just get up, brush yourself off and get refurbished. All the very best on your journey.
