Jimin got an Appreciation Plaque from The Kim Baek Bong Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society, for his amazing fan performance in the intro of Idol and for his (quote) "significant contribution to promote the status and the aesthetic value of the dance". The fan dance is considered as an Intangible Cultural Treasure by the Korean Government, so getting this Plaque was really a touching and impressive way to get his superb dancing style acknowledged. The appreciation for his dance was signficant since in Korean culture most dancers who do this specific dance are women. His dancing and handling of the fan being immaculate. Also his interpretation of it helped peak more interest from global audiences about the dance itself, since the video of his dance went viral.

“IDOL” was actually a clapback. After their billboard chart entry and them getting inivitations to perform at the amas and receiving a billboard music award the korean media and other groups’ fans started saying that BTS has become westernised right now (don’t respect korean culture and blah blah blah) so they came up with Idol, the MV and also the choreo has many traditional dance steps, the music has many korean elements. And the performance as you saw here had korean traditional performances.

I havent seen anyone mention so I wanted to bring it up to you guys because i thought it was cool: 1) BTS actually filmed a behind the scenes for this MMA as (i believe) a part of their documentary (ARMY can correct me if im wrong). During the Idol performance the stage was ACTUALLY shaking and staff had to go under the stage and basically old the stage so that it wouldnt collapse under the pressure of just how many dancers were on it. 2) These events have a lot of cameras and even fans like to record their own Idols even when theyre not performing; if you look up other kpop group's reactions during this stage, you'll see that during the last chorus of Idol, the stage was literally shaking and theyre all shocked and start holding their chairs because of how much force was put on that stage from their performance (as noted by the previous comment of the staff). Just some background stuff that i thought would be cool to bring up to you guys! BTS are artists and their power and prescence is on another level!!

Jimin the main dancer and lead vocalist of bts for a reason. Jimin is so Talented. He is the most skilled dancer. He is trained hiphop , contemporary dancer. He also trained in modern dance. He also learned ballet, street dance, hip hop , jazz , popping and locking , isolation etc . Jimin is experienced in martial arts too . He also learned teakwondo ( in which he has black belt) , hipkado , kendo for 8 years etc. He is so Talented. Jimin and jhope both are main Dancers ( Plus Jimin is lead vocalist too). I suggest their MAMA 2018 (MNET Asian Music Awards) version of Airplane Pt 2 also, it's amazing. I prefer it to this one. I also suggest their MAMA award show performances in general, starting from 2015 with the Block B collab where Jimin tears off his clothes, the 2016 with Jungkook suspended in the air and the insane duo dance of j-hope and a blindfolded Jimin, and so on. Both the MMA (Melon Music Awards) and the MAMA stages for BTS are all legendary, including j-hope burning up the stage with his 2022 solo MAMA performance.

To me, MMA 2019 is the best performance IN THE WORLD! The stage is ridiculously huge, their solo performances were stunning, and Dyonisus? No words to describe it! J-Hope was headlining the last day of Lollapalooza (we call it Hobipalooza). It was aaaaaaawesome!! You need to react to it (pleeease!)

The masks/cloaks imagery/action was related to the BU/ smeraldo flower storyline. Most of the really significant-feeling but confusing (and upsettingly well-acted) bits in MVs and these interstitial videos at concerts before 2020 are bits and pieces of that storyline (which involves timeloops and deaths and is set in a "high school friends" age-frame). The cloaks part was when it started to get more openly existential and less concrete, lol. The scope of the 2019 performance was extra even for MAMA and even for BTS. We now know that their plans were to do the big worldwide tour in spring 2020 and then enlist, so likely they meant the 2019 MAMA as the big goodbye which fans should remember, because they expected to be in the military before the 2020 one. I think this is why there was so much time spent highlighting each of the seven members in the 2019 intro.
