This whole video was CHAOS!!! 🤣😭💩🐝 So many times during editing we had to debate whether to include sections or not but we really want to give you the honest look at van life and see the things that we were learning about our new life. Our next video will be less chaotic *promise* we start full time van life and start going on some really exciting adventures and going to some really cool spots. Maybe a little too relaxed haha! 🤣 It's just another one of those minor things that is so new and unknown and exciting when starting van life. It was definitely a huge change and I feel like we're still adjusting and learning now! What a journey so far, looking forward to sharing more of it 😊

That rainy day is another reason for vanlife. Imagine being in a tent. Will it leak? Cooking in the rain. Or, trying to cook with any outdoor setup and being stuck inside a rig where you can't stand up. Vans for the win!!!

Fellow Perthite here 👋 I have parked up at that site in Jarradale several times now, sweet little spot and town! I went from a micro-van with outdoor shower and self-composting toilet to now fitting out a Toyota Coaster bus for full-time living. I am doing the build on my dad's 100 acre property in Toodyay...if you're ever up this way you're welcome to park up on the hillside with awesome views over Toodyay! 🌳🌳🌳

I know! It’s become such a normal part of our life now but was just so totally different to what we were used to. So full of excitement and nerves at the start of the trip 🥲 And you’re right, Jarrahdale was such a lovely spot. Really grateful that they have it available. Oh wow such an exciting journey for you! How far along are you with the build? And it must feel so weird suddenly having so much space to work with compared to a micro-van 🤣 And thank you so much for the offer, that’s so lovely of you 💙 I bet it’s beautiful up there! I’m sure you can work on the build as late as you want also without having to worry about bothering neighbours with the noise 😂

Yes, we got used to conserving water very quickly! 😅 We’re now a couple of months into van life and really learnt how precious water is.

So awesome! Get to see you guys on your first trip! Congratulations on the first poop! It's a great video, just take your time, learn all the problems for your first trip and everyday will just be better and better, growing pains.. sh*t happens lol. Wehan's hair looks good! You guys look fine 15:22. Do a lot of buildings use solar down under? You must get plenty of good light! How's the power issues? Topped up? You guys are cool!

Thank you! It was a very memorable first poop 🤣💩 Definitely, it's a whole new world for us and we're constantly learning and getting better at our new life. I'd say it was a very successful first trip despite a bit of chaos! And I will add that Wehan added in the hair comment when editing, it gave us both a good laugh. Yeah a lot of buildings are using solar, particularly the last few years. The government has pushed on incentivising the use of solar for homes and businesses. While on the road solar has been great for us, while writing this we're currently parked up near the beach with our batteries at 100% (averaging about 2.8 kWh a day on sunny days) ☀️ I expect the weather will be a little more inconsistent when we head to other states but this Summer we've been blessed with great weather so far.

Nice. Maiden poo event saved for posterity. My toilet is more home made. Same concept though. I swore that it would be a complete success if it NEVER EVER got used. Was stuck it traffic on the way to a toilet. (During COVID lock downs and not many available) Situation got more and more desperate. Traffic was stopped. With great anxiety I used it. Complete non event. Did not realize till Lydia said it, but it was even quiet. Now I almost never use public toilets. Also, Vanlife, where toilet discussions are just normal. Great video. Trying to show the slight chaos that regular life in a van or well just regular life is.

🤣😂 Wow what a way to force yourself to use it for the first time! Honestly we had the same mindset where we didn't think we'd use it that much but wanted it just in case but now, like you, we almost never use public toilets. Us vanlifers are a whole different breed hey?!

Just wondering if it’s in an air fryer or bench top oven? We take our air fryer with us as we don’t have oven and pizzas have been a problem to make. Yours worked well!

It’s a benchtop oven with air fryer functionality. It’s the Cuisinart Express Oven Air Fry TOA-65XA, we’ve really loved it and cook pretty much everything we used to cook before vanlife in it. Mostly in the air fryer functionality which is great 😊
