No Ma-am we don't have private beaches in South Africa, thanks to the Department of Environmental Affairs. No one has exclusivity to our coastline.

All shorelines are publicly owned in South Africa - i.e. there are no provate beaches. The Sea-shore Act declares the state to be the owner of the sea-shore and is entitled to exercise control over the sea-shore and of the sea and the bed. According to this Sea-shore Act, the ownership of the coastal public property rests with the citizens of the Republic and the coastal public property must be held in trust by the State on behalf of the citizens of the Republic.

At the airport you said you spent 9 or 10 days in the country? From what I saw in the footage you were in Sandton (Johannesburg) and then flew to Cape Town. Other KZbinrs would have broken this up into 9 or 10 different videos. This was too short. I hope you were in the moment, enjoying everything. Hopefully you learned a bit about our history and visited the Apartheid museum while in Johannesburg. I'm not sure if the Robben Island tours still happen in Cape Town. That was where they held freedom fighters as prisoners back in the days of racial segregation.

During apartheid government had beaches strictly for certain races. Black people had their beach, whites had their beach coloureds had theirs . The idea of private beaches will not happen because we had segregation today the beach is fr all South Africans
