Thanks to the kindness of the Olthoff family, Fresh Baked was able to enjoy a stay at one bedroom suite at the Grand Californian. Sara was there throughout the week, and Liz and I were able to stay Friday night. It was exceptionally magical. Thank you very much Sherene, Scott, and Kristen!
Among the other magic we got to enjoy that night, was being among the first people to see Disneyland test the soon to be back again Disneyland Railroad. We caught them first at New Orleans Square, then again at Big Thunder Trail. It was pretty amazing.

Don't forget the patio/balcony on the 5th floor overlooking paradise Bay, it's prime viewing for world of color. I usually go up there even when Im not staying there.

We went to storyteller's last year. It was my first trip to DL in 30 plus years. After a long flight from Florida storytellers was our first stop. The waiter there (older gentleman) fell in love with me. He gave me a HANDFUL of the black DL diamond celebration pens, the ones u use to sign your check. Lol it was a great way to start our vacation!!!! Looks like u guys had a great time!! So glad you enjoyed!!

Staying at the Grand Californian or any of those hotels is always such a special treat. Many thanks to those very generous people to give you that gift. It was cool to hear you guys be so excited about it. Hopefully it won't be the last time you all get to stay there. You deserve to have that experience every once and a while. It's always a special time when we get to stay there. We have stayed at Paradise Pier 3 times and Disneyland hotel about 5 times and Grand Californian one time and our second visit will be in August for 4 days and I am super excited especially now after seeing you guys there!

This whole video just puts a big smile on my face! From the walking into the Grand Californian to your amazing room and dinner and then to see the train 😍 Grand Californian is our go to hotel when we are at Disneyland...that view of WOC is amazing at night! I do like the view around the hotel closer to the park entrance also to watch the monorail go by😀 A perfect break is sitting on the patio listening to the sounds of the park while enjoying an adult beverage! ❤️❤️

David, you've mention no vacation in forever and this stay at the Grand Californian is kinda one. But I think for you it's more of a "Staycation" as this is just your normal stomping ground, although it comes with two bathrooms. Hope you & Liz were able to enjoy!!!

I haven't been inside the Grand Californian since the Christmas tree burned in 2005! One of my most memorable trips! With the room you got I don't think I would be able to sleep at all. I would just watch DCA all night to see what goes on when everyone has left. FRESH BAKED you have me craving some DL from Texas! If someone gifts you a night at the Candy Cane Inn or Best Western, I'm your man! FRESH BAKED!!

We went to the buffet at Hollywood Studios that has a Disney Jr meet and greet. We weren't expecting it to be great but it was awesome!

Why does everyone say the pork belly is fatty? It's pork belly! It is the same thing bacon is made out of. Its is supposed to be fatty. The idea is that you cook it until the fat renders and becomes edible. It should be very lush in your mouth as you eat it.

I got gifted a stay there last fall....OMG what a great place, I totally get why it is so expensive....I didn't feel well the first day and I kept going back to the room to rest. (I think it was easily 4 or 5 times) EVERY single time I came back the bed was made....Not to mention all the park perks, you get in early everyday and you have your own entrance, soooooo awesome!!!!

Yes the nachos!!! The cafe is past the entrance to DCA from the hotel at the end of the walkway. The fire and cafe are fun secrets my family likes to visit. More so when we were APs.

i went to school (1st grade through 12th) with a girl named norma. after high school she got a job at disneyland and worked there under the name elizabeth. she said she never liked the name norma and decided to change it. since i got my first annual pass in 1986 i've seen her at the main gate turnstiles many times,usually in the morning. the first time i saw her she recognized me before i recognized her. one day she told me she saw me so much that i should work there. she even gave me a cast member referral card. sadly i never applied,but i continued to see her on trips to both parks. she always had a great smile and greeted me by name. i can't remember her married name,but i don't think there are very many longtime cast members at the gate named elizabeth old enough to have a son working there too. so i have to conclude that the elizabeth david spoke of is the same one i knew. this just breaks my heart. she is gone way too soon. my condolences to her son and whole family. i hope to see him sometime so can tell him how much it meant for me to see her at the park. it was always a highlight of the day. rest in peace,liz.

Nice video. We love Storytellers Cafe for breakfast and have had dinner there also. Great theming and wonderful staff. The hotel is wonderful, friends have stayed and love it, but the prices are too rich for my blood. That was a super special treat. Congrats!

dear fresh baked and crew I really do enjoy showing all the great things your do. I remember being at Disneyland back in the early 70 when Aerojet general bought the park for a day. my father would take me to all the rides. I put tissue paper in my shoe so I could be able to ride all the rides.
