Scary Yes, But we needed to know if we were okay to pack prior to leaving to head towards Ningaloo Western Australia.
Thankfully we reached out to Geelong Caravan Weighing who made this process simple and easy to understand. Gary and Andrew went above and beyond to help us and we are so thankful they taught us what we needed to know and do.
If your around the Geelong Region I definitely recommend them!

Hey guys, how did u go with weights in WA due to the GCM upgrades not being legal??? u would be over 7000kg GCM surely??

I wouldn’t get too excited until you add people, pets, water, fuel, tools, toys and luggage and you will quickly eat up that payload.

I think you guys might have forgotten this but you should have put in a long range fuel tank as fuel is very critical when you are off-road and with all that weight the car is going to consume a lot of fuel also there are times where there is no fuel for hundreds of Kms

Congrats on being under weight You mentioned taking the seats out, might be worth checking the regs in VIC, in NSW to stay legal you have to get it engineered if you remove any seats

How can they be 1700kg under when they are unhitched with the bigger wheels, bullbar and a boat on the roof? Did old mate fail maths or what? With a 4499kg GVM upgrade that is not physically possible And they believed him 🙈

This should have been done before you left Cairns. Driving overweight is dangerous not only to yourself but to every other person on the road.

No kids, no dog, no fishing, gear no toys, no food, no fuel for the boat . We won't see the weight in when full.

And as they load the van the ball weight rises which they do need but then the payload in the car goes down
