Poor effort by P&O only made right with a free cup of tea 😂 looking forward to part 2 👍
@CaravanEscapades1012 жыл бұрын
Lol agree, it was strange all they kept rattling on about was the free tea coffee and water from the fridge. We tried to get Darcie-May an Oasis out of the fridge and was promptly told we had to pay for that. The tea and coffee wasn't anything special either itvwas machine coffee you had to get yourself in paper cups and was nothing to shout home about. Part 2 will be uploaded as soon as I get chance to edit it. I am allready recording part 4, I recon there will be at least 5 parts by the time we get home. 😁. Thanks for watching and commenting. We stayed there a few years ago - the weather was very hot and it was great to have a dip in their pool. I notice you didn't film the pool area, is it still there? We then drove down to Amboise in the Loire Valley to a site opposite the Chateau. A lovely area that I'd recommend.

Great blog … thanks for the info on p & o. I’ve I was making the crossing I would use the tunnel . Coming from from Scotland the price doesn’t really come into it.
@CaravanEscapades101 Жыл бұрын
Hi No Problem at all, I have used the Tunnel in the past but not without the car, it was really down to the fact that I had a booking that had been rolling over through Covid and at the time The Tunnel was a lot more expensive, agree with you though, traveling down from Scotland and adding the tunnel cost of the mix, I can see why it doesn't come into it. Thanks for watching and Happy Camping. James

I think your concern about tyre temperatures is simply down to you knowing them. I’ve travelled hundreds of thousands of miles in all weathers including some very high temperatures and have never suffered any tyre problems from overheating. As long as you’ve got the correct tyres on your vehicle there is no problem, they’re designed to endure a tough life.
@CaravanEscapades1018 ай бұрын
Thank you, for sharing your experience, very much appreciated. I have towed and driven many miles before also, I never really gave the high increase in the tyres much thought before I fitted the TPMS. Happy camping James

The cost of crossing is about £60 cheaper than the tunnel. Add to that the Tesco vouchers deal it makes sense to try the tunnel. I always use the tunnel and did the 9:50 am out and 10:30am back and it cost £660 to go out on 23/7 and return 22/8. Done in 35mins. Boat seems a total nightmare in comparison.
@CaravanEscapades101 Жыл бұрын
Hi, Is that in the holiday season or out. Of season (School Holidays), if I could find that tunnel at that price, I would take it. The ferry this year was £458 with Irish Ferries. I tried all sorts of connotations with timings for the tunnel the closest I could get was just shy of £900. It may also be that our caravan is 7.98m long. I would live to use the tunnel and will keep looking. Thanks for watching and commenting
@davidmatthews30938 ай бұрын
Over the years the tunnel has often been cheaper than the ferries.
@johnsparkes3023 Жыл бұрын
The delays on your crossing would put me off .We have used Tunnel for the past 11 years and have always been on the Train early or ontime.We often arrive early and are always offered an earlier train, very quick.
@CaravanEscapades101 Жыл бұрын
I will seriously look at the tunnel for next year it has always been the massive price difference between the ferry and the tunnel for when we want to cross that has put me off. We got there mega early on the way down and it still took us an age to get in, however on the way back it was an absolute breeze
@davidmatthews30938 ай бұрын
Don’t think that the Tunnel doesn’t suffer delays from time to time. I’ve suffered more than my fair share. The worst was during the 1998 World Cup when the train was delayed for hours and the car park was full of squaddies heading home for the weekend from their bases in Germany and England football supporters. Both groups were drinking heavily and getting more and more abusive towards the other. Not a nice place to be.

Thanks Robert. First of all we hope you have a great time when you go and hopefully cross without any hassle. From our point of view whe we crossed 3 weeks ago the delays did seem to stem from around P&O. I know it go worse a few days later with other factors. We are crossing back tomorrow late morning let's hope things have improved. James

I bought it through the CMHC online shop. It contains all the CMHC and Acsi sites across Europe. You can also add you outfit size so it won't take you down lanes you can't go. Hope that helps and happy Camping

A huge NO to any journey on P and O, another Brexshit bonus.

I would agree but we had allready paid our money back in 2019 and this was rolled over from then. So it was a case of loosing our money and paying out again or reluctantly using it.
