Neva was good, but imo not as good as Gris, so I can't help feeling a tad bit disappointed with it. Still Wakes the Deep was a wonderful surprise. Liked it a lot.

I hope Thank Goodness You're Here gets some recognition this year. That was just pure unadulterated fun to play with the bonkers stories it told. Haven't laughed at a game so much in a long long time, but GOTY for me is Silent Hill 2. The whole game is brilliant, but as Rosie was saying, the sound design is phenomenal. There is one particular room in the game which sent shivers down my spine because of the sound. Luke Roberts as James and Gianna Kiehl as Angela were the standout performances for me, but the whole cast did an amazing job.

The game I'm praying for and hoping that will win Game of the Year is 10000% Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. And I hope that a DLC doesn't win, because that's crazy. I had to slap myself silly when I heard that the first time.

Its between metaphor and ff7 for me. Ff7 is pure spectical and the characters are amazing. I really loved my time with it. Metaphor is pure politics and religion and the script writing is so excellent and has so many twists its enjoyable all the way through. So difficult to decide. But i do still think ff7 rebirth has it for me. But metaphor is a 10/10 as well

Same for me. I think metaphor slightly edges it for me, but they could just be recency bias. Both were fantastic. I was also greatly surprised how much fun Astrobot was. I think they all deserve it.

FF7 rebirth easily my favourite game in a long time and top 2 game of all time for me, did exactly what i wanted from it and more was just so full of content and im hoping they keep that going in the final part. Stellar blade from what ive played of it is very fun, Astro bot is so charming and polished its also up there. And a lot people say ps5 has been struggling for games 😅

I’ll be honest I listened to this just so I can hear Rob talk about Rebirth. I just know he loves FF and rebirth as much as I do. He captured the feeling of the ending perfectly. I felt emotionally drained, I felt nervous coming up to it. It’s a feeling I’ve never had with a video game before.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, for me I haven't had the chance to play some games I want to try such as Metaphor, and there are many arguably good games that just don't appeal to me like Dragons Dogma and the Yakuza games. So, can only go by what I've actually had hands on.

Dave is talking about a card game and my most recently played game is also a card game. I played Inscryption which is a roguelike card deck building horror game. Easy to learn, not so easy to master. Took me long enough to get through Act 1. I think that's also my most recently released game - all other games that I still need to catch up on are older. It's still too old to be considered "game of the year".

Astro Bot is the clear choice. It's a flawless game, and pretty much epitomizes fun. Silent Hill 2 Remake is probably my (slightly biased) personal choice however. And of course, Shadow of the Erdtree is amazing as well.

It's been a pretty thin year in my opinion but I have to be honest seeing Balatro made me happy. For me it's Black Myth Wukong then probably Metaphor and Balatro/Helldivers 2. Astrobot was a joy but a bit too short and FF7 rebirth is great too but built around an old title and I'm inclined to say that it Erdtree shouldn't be on the list as it's an remake/expansion, they should have their own category.. A lot of people are talking up Space Marine 2 which I love and my brother and I are still enjoying the mp but I don't think it's game of the year material, it knows exactly what it is and makes no apologies but there isn't enough there for GotY.

This year, Metaphor ReFantazio wins easy. The game I spent the most time playing by a large margin. The gameplay is fun, the art is amazing with so many screenshots being magnifict art. Not perfect, once the final boss was a pain point for me, unfortunately, but amazing.

Astro Bot, I felt like a kid again. As much as I love Rebirth I didn't feel some of the changes they made. Also an honorable mention to Beyond Galaxyland, I was kind of bored with turn based RPG's but that game was so fantastic and enjoyable. Plus it's a setting that doesn't get used much in RPG's ,sci-fi. I definitely recommend it if you haven't played it.
