This is a tour of how we camp or glamp haha. We have a Core Cabin Tent 11 and we camp with 5 people, we fill it with 2 Disc-o-Bed systems, portable air conditioner, table, dresser, Zero Water system, 3 tubs, 2 coolers and a bathroom - yes a BATHROOM! Outside of the tent we use Be Cool Solution tarps, a camp kitchen, a DEWALT 3-teired tool box for our kitchen items, a griddle, a butane stove, a sink and a misting system. We really enjoy camping and being outdoors however we want to be comfortable while enjoying nature.

Wow Caleb, that is a very high compliment thank you. I am glad this brought you joy. You listed a lot of obstacles upon yourself but all of them can be mastered by you. High functioning autism makes you unique, you see things a different way and sometimes (a lot of times) we need a different way. A wheelchair is an obstacle for sure but I always tend to look at the bright side of things, it is the only way I survive, so for me I would find groups of people in the same predicament surround myself with people who understand me then we all go to theme parks and get first inline at everything! Depression sucks, I have loved ones who have bouts of that as well. Find someone to talk to, practice mindfulness (KZbin has a ton of videos on this) and above everything find the silver lining and focus on that. In every situation there is a silver lining, even if it is miniscule it is there and that is where you direct your attention, hang on to those thoughts and then when you are prepared, focus on the not so pretty, work through it but never lose track of the silver lining. Hang in there Caleb, things will get better!!!! Thank you for sharing your story with us and I hope you find some of our other videos entertaining for you as well. Take care.

A lot of it is in the mind-set, for me. Setting up and tearing down is part of the fun, an associated activity that's also a pleasure, due to the association. I'm not a morning person, so that's my only thing about breaking camp. There's a tendency to rush, because you want to get somewhere by a specific time, etc. That makes it work, for me. One strategy is to begin packing up the night before. Get it down to just what you need to sleep and make breakfast. You can do the same thing setting up. Do enough to get dinner and bed time taken care of, and finish spreading out the next day. Do it in stages. Not everyone can set up for a week or more at a shot. Weekenders should probably not get too elaborate, but that's where I come back to the "associated fun" idea. Some people enjoy the setting up and breaking down. Those chores are just part of the experience, just moving around out in the fresh air, enjoying the fresh air and the people you're with.

I pitch a tarp on top of my 10 person tent. Its not one of those cheap heavy tarps but made for actual an actual shelter. It has reflective material so it reflects the sun. It does a great job of keeping the temperature down. But This is an awesome glamping set up

I have a similar set up for camping. Where I usually camp at I get 5g service ( tmobile) I have the samsung s22 ultra and used a dex adapter to a projector to a projector screen (ozark trail) and watch live UFC PPV on a Saturday night while camping. So many people around the campsite watched my projector from afar . And because the projector also projects behind the projector screen I had 3 campsites watching also. I caused a ruckus lol.

In the beginning of the video you mentioned watching your step for the lines on the canopy. They can be super hard to see so for mine I use pool noodles. Just get a brightly colored one cut into whatever length you want and use a razor blade to cut a slit for the string to go through and pop it on. Makes it way easier to see especially at night. And if you do get caught on it offers some padding. Also light way and easy to transport.

We have a large 5th wheel toy hauler and for a few years the wife and I loved hauling it all over because our son was very young and it was easy to contain him inside and have basically a home with us wherever we went. The problem with a travel trailer is that many state and county parks within 3-4 hours of where we live can't accommodate trailers, so we were kinda limited as to where we could go. Places built for trailers are usually like large asphalt parking lots which is not much fun. So we are going back to tent camping now that our son is older and will enjoy camping and fishing in the country and we can get to the more rugged destinations that require 4WD and a tent. You guys really go all out with your camp, looked like fun. How long do you guys stay when you set up like that with everything?
@thestegmonsters
@thestegmonsters 2 ай бұрын
We like to camp a minimum of 3 nights. Will only camp less on special occasions and when the weather is a bit cooler so we don't have to go to the extremes. We actually update to a popup now and love it. Have you thought about a popup? We now only tent camp with boy scouts.

Aww, thank you! So at first Ezra wanted to eat Mousse haha. He thought she was a toy that never stopped moving, so for 3 or 4 months Mousse stayed in our daughter's room with the door always closed but this helped him get used to her smell. From there we would have them meet a little here and there and then one day during Snowmagedon in Texas we lost power and had to stay with a friend, all of us crammed in one room. It was during that time that we saw they became friends, they were actually cuddling. From then on Ezra does not even blink an eye to Mousse bouncing around everywhere haha.

@punktexas thanks for the heads up, I have updated the link however our model is no longer out but this looks to be similar. amzn.to/4bCwxEp I think a unit with air exiting the side would be better because it is likely that your tube will be coming out from the floor of your tent. I have a few questions… I’m a new Jeep owner n part of a Jeep group that caps out a lot. It could be for 1 night with no water or electricity or an entire weekend with a shower and bathrooms. I’m quite interested in the Dewalt storage that you have, but I did not see a link to the one that you have. First let me say I am not a Fufu girl, but I like AC! I did not see where you posted your favorite portable AC unit….. 100 degrees sucks, but will not stop me from camping n trail riding with my JEEPers. What was your favorite AC unit, and does it also put out heat? Another question, where did you find the table with the sink. Big Question, I’ve been sleeping in my Jeep for camping….I don’t want to anymore. I’d like to buy a 4-6 person tent with windows to open if great weather, also love the mesh top, but will give that up to stay cool when it gets hot. Should I not get a tent that has the mesh top, your husband did mention about getting another tarp to put over the tent. Do y’all think it’s best to forgo getting a tent with the mesh top?
@thestegmonsters
@thestegmonsters Жыл бұрын
@brigittewalker6904 The DeWalt storage "kitchen" was a hand-me-down sorta speak. It was my husband's when he worked construction, we love it! Here is a link to a new model they have now: amzn.to/3XJTIGF The AC is magical but on the bigger side, not sure what you are towing with your jeep and we have never tried it with solar power, we always camp with electric: amzn.to/3Y6767N The AC does not have heat, we bring this along on colder nights: amzn.to/3XrjX4g We recently bought a buddy heater but have not camped with it yet: amzn.to/3JoiDez The sink is a dream but Lifetime stopped producing it (not sure why). This is similar but does not have the same nozzle: amzn.to/3XJUUd7 As for the mesh it is pretty difficult to find one without mesh in Texas and not pay $$$. We prefer no mesh to keep the AC/heat from escaping however mesh for you would be helpful in the summer months when camping off grid. So I guess you have to decide which you do more camping of and if you are willing to spend the time to cover the mesh on days you are using AC/heat. Thanks for watching!!

Past the AC we use Be Cool Solutions for the tarps and a misting system. All of this together really knocks down the temp during the day when the sun is at its hottest.

Is that CORE tent still holding up?
@thestegmonsters
@thestegmonsters 8 ай бұрын
@JasonXBeats It is actually HOWEVER we have had to patch up the floor faster than expected and the zipper between the cabins doesn't zip all the way. Core will supposedly replace the tent, we need to get in that and find out for sure though. The zipper could be wear and tear from 3 littles, I do expect better for the amount of money we paid for this tent, I will still be a happy customer if they do replace it.

@@thestegmonsters I always get insurance on any tent I buy I just bought 3 tents all insured. I love y’all’s system in this video I’m still watching it lol
@thestegmonsters
@thestegmonsters 8 ай бұрын
Also another thing I don't like about this is the very front cabin the doors into the tent has a thin netting panel along the bottom and this is not very helpful if you're in a torrential downpour and your site is a little sloped it's also not great because little bugs like ants and tiny spiders have a better chance at getting in. Aside from all of this though lol I still like it.

@thestegmonsters Жыл бұрын
Hello, this is a link to the A/C that we have. This one works really well however we are looking at getting a dual A/C soon so the intake isn't drawing from inside the tent but from the outside. This will help keep the tent walls from sucking in and we think it will make things cooler in the tent. www.homedepot.com/p/Toshiba-10-000-BTU-7-000-BTU-DOE-115-Volt-WiFi-Portable-Air-Conditioner-with-Dehumidifier-Mode-and-Remote-for-up-to-300-sf-RAC-PD1013CWRU/314620248

That rabbit's scent can attract predators not to mention the heat can kill your bunny. Camping with a bunny really puts him or her at risk.

We camp in state parks so predators coming in would be rare and we have our dog as a deterent as well. Our tent always remained cool, she always had fans on her as well. We have had her for 4 years now and she does really well on adventures. Now we camp with a pop up camper with 2 ACs so she is always in a cool environment. Mousse Mousse is always our main concern when on adventures

It’s very important to be able to vacation without breaking the bank 🏦 a cheap hotel 🏨 room can cost you No less than $150 a night that is not sustainable for a family of four or five if you want to spend a week or more out away from home in a nice fun place for adults and children.
