Good job, Joshua. The track will get smoother. Our grater has been broke down, and we just got it running Friday night. David Hicken (owner of Callahan Speedway) will be working on the track all week, and the ripples will be mostly taken care of. I'm the flagman at Callahan, and we really appreciate you racing with us, and showing everybody the world of Kart racing in general, and Callahan Speedway. Good luck to you and the rest of the team!!

Travis Hanner After watching the video again, I realize I was complaining more than I meant to about the track. I don’t think it was that bad. I’m just used to the nice soft ride in a race car with suspension! 😂 Thanks for watching. Hope to meet you at the track soon!
@anthonycope86375 жыл бұрын
@@Joiner1056 you are driving it like a stock car too. Kart sounds way to bogged on exit and like you never really got into the upper end of the rpm range a rear gear change at least for that second heat would have given you some notes to work with. Try to pin point the catch of the clutch rpm you might be able to put lighter weights in the clutch to give you a couple hundred more rpm before it grabs

Im a kart racer myself and i want to say good job but I feel like if you use some millenium tire prep or "black bite" tire prep and work the tires through out the week your tires are going to be 2 times better and make you go alot faster in the straight aways and the turns but if you dont Like either one of those preps try and find a good popular prep that most people think works good. Also its good to have several sets of tires bc when you run one tire the prep gets burnt out of it and wont run as good for the feature but when you get home and get your tires clean You can work the tires and they will be like they were when you ran them the last time. Keep up the good work man !

Really enjoying the dirt go cart racing videos Joshua. man keep it up man looking better every time I watch you. This bring back memories when I used to help my cousin run his racing go carts. Ik when we raced back then we ran flatheads instead of the clone motors. I do miss those days it took us about five years to really start figure out the tires and tire prep we always used goat pea here in north Mississippi but man good luck at ur next race brother .

Go karts are so fun but can be frustrating at the same time. Just because how sensitive they are with gearing and tires. You can have all the motor in the world but that means nothing if you don’t have the tires to back it up. Good job in your race! Been watching a lot of the videos love them! I like getting to see a POV of both latemodel racing and then go kart racing.

Joshua should see if that track has open practice during the week. Got to practice, 1st & MOST important. Got to learn his motor & kart, being fast & smooth through the turns is KEY. Throttle control is key to being upfront. You can usegad & brake at same time , the less u let out cornering, faster ya gonna be. Also, gotta learn the track, different lines that are fast at different times. Go higher on the straight aways & drop low through turns. Can also watch ur class videos on KZbin, pay attention to the style of thebguys upfront. Gotta practice more than twice a month if you ever wanna race with those guys.
@danielthebigo76155 жыл бұрын
Good job racing. Your kart is fast enough for sure by how fast you can catch back up. I personally think you just need more wheel time and you will get better just like you said.

As a kart racer. Your doing really good buddy! Keep up the good work. Remember as the track comes in more,your gearing can change also. Plus air pressure, find you a good tire prep system that works for you. You may have to move a washer or 2 at the track. Another is,try moving the left rear hub. May have to move it in,or out by a 1/4 inch. Mostly is remember, to have fun! Enjoy yalls videos.

My apologies for the previous long comment. Good job for first time out. Gotta PRACTICE bro, kart racing is a different animal. That's the only way you gonna actually compete with them boys. Tracks usually have a certain day during the week for open practice. We used to rent the track for an hour or however long & just turn laps. Lastly, dont be scared of that thing bro, looked like you maybe were going half throttle. Cant be scared of it or to spin. Good luck dude. I'll be watching in future

If you don't mind me asking what sprocket size you got on the kart? I run outlaw and mod stock I usually have a 72 or a 74 sprocket. In between races try changing the sprocket looks like your having trouble coming out of the corners usually a 72 or a 74 will help with take off and coming out of the corners from my experience.

Nice job Joshua- excellent!!! --- New car, different feel and ya still done well. Upgrades... seems to be the name of the game. Still, even with carts --- exciting! Ya might hafta find ya a cushion to pad the bottom/lower back a bit; find ya some comfort. Success is just around the corner my friend (I can see it). That carting looks fun as ____!!! An adrenaline rush for sure! Now I was looking forward to the 56 showing up in a vid but that's OK. I understand wanting to race --- because there is a race! ....... But since ya chose to run for points, you made the smart decision and kept it at home (we can't always do the smart thing, right? LOL). Get that thing lubed, checked and re-scaled ... if I were just a few miles closer, I'd come and help (I-81 WV, between Winchester VA and Hagerstown MD) LOL.
