Joshua’s confidence is getting better with each race I see. He was wheeling that kart!

Well of course it’s scary doing it at first but then as you start racing more the speed slows down on you

Tip for scaling kart. Zip tie your break peddle down to the front bumper. Then you can get in and out without the kart moving or needing someone to hold the brake.
@Joiner10564 жыл бұрын
Awesome tip! Thanks

Any time. I raced karts for 15+ years. Used to scale my kart by myself sometimes. Had to come up with something 😂

WEBSTER BROTHERS RACING exactly. I was wondering if I was the only one who saw that. Gotta help the rookies to keep kart racing around since tracks are closing all the time.

I thank you for making this comment. I read it awhile back and started using it this year. My driver is much happier entering and exiting kart 👍

For the corners to keep your momentum up stay in the throttle and tap the brake to set the cart where you want it once you tap the break and come off of it it'll also give you a little acceleration boost in a sense but I do a lot of old race tracks in small indoor race tracks and I've come to learn that keeping the throttle held all the way down and just tapping the brake pedal helps me set the car where I want it
@Retired704 жыл бұрын
Good racing, enjoyed it. Joshua hung in there ,which is how you gain confidence. Getting frustrated only makes the race seem longer.
@MidpackMania4 жыл бұрын
By far your best run, it’s a real confidence booster when things go right after a run of bad luck. It takes time to get down, and it’s finally starting to fall in place. Congrats on the podium.

I raced karts for several years before going to big cars.....and yes if you aren’t flat~footing in karts you’re not fast......all about momentum! I think you are taking huge steps forward in every video! Keep it up brother! God Bless

Good race. That was one of your best runs yet. Turn 2 seems to be the tough spot for a lot of drivers. When you got shuffled back, you got right back in it. Good job. The 375 class is the toughest class out there. Winning a heat, and top 3 in a feature is a great night of racing. Congratulations, can't wait to see you get another win!!!

Just a tip- when the track is like that. You need a 125cc tire with your choice of prep. For practice- burn in black sand and acrosol. For Qualifying clean tires with track rack blue tire wash. - use SD-22 degreaser and nothing else, burn in last coat. Repeat for main. The issue why you are lose is you are over wiping and picking up the dirt off of the track. The degreaser will prevent this and you will still have prep in your tire from practice for it to fire. A 2-3 week old tire is probably going to be best if you can get them into a cycle.
@benwilliamson47944 жыл бұрын
Joshua, good job man. I've read the comments and this is by far the best advice anyone has ever given you on here. He is spot on with his advice for the sandy/dry slick conditions that night. It's not the kart, its Tires! If you will give this a try next time the track is that way you will see that the slide will disappear without wiping prep! If the track has moisture, wipe. If it's like it was that night do exactly what he suggested. But your tires will have to be rolled internally at home on Wednesday before the race. Good luck on your next race man!

Looks to be alot more taking than earning a spot. I raced for 30 yrs. And I always said " when in Rome , drive like the Roman's do " . Every body knows what a great guy you are and they don't seem to be worried about you getting mad or even . Just a thought. They get respect when they give respect. The kart seems to have looked better this go around but I tell ya what Joshua races with about the roughest kart drivers I’ve ever seen. I remember back in the day when I drove karts you tried to take care of your equipment, gee oh I’ve heard of rubbin is racing but man oh. Hang in there Joshua you’ll get it, a kart takes time to learn. Take all the late model days & throw them out the window, I’ve been in both as well lol

damned good job dude!!!! That was your best outing yet in terms of driving style. You looked and acted like a professional driver out there and thats what it takes some times. I know some dirty tricks in cart racing but I don't think I will share them lol.

@@Joiner1056 I love watching all the hunt the front videos . Your family are down to earth and real grass roots racers and funny as heck. Plus you three are good drivers, if I lived in the area I would help what ever I can. stagger you’re where pressure i race these year round, run 4 1/2 left side and 5 1/2 right and if you push check your camber see where your tire is hitting and if that don’t work go 5 1/2 left and 6 1/2 right

One thing I always did was watch the shadows around your kart on the track. You can usually see at least the shadow of another helmet if they are close. NEVER LOOK BACK OVER YOUR SHOULDER.

Joshua in the corner try dragging the brake. That means stay on the gas and hold the brake for like 1.5 seconds then let off the brake and gun it

just a tip, if the track drys out and the kart gets loose move the lr in a smidge will tighten up. just a thought.
@Joiner10564 жыл бұрын
Dave actually did just that last weekend when I was struggling with being loose. I didn't catch it on video. It indeed did tighten the kart up for us.

Great run! Your getting there.
@slumpi62394 жыл бұрын
Really recommend Donnie Nalls Speed Elixir for tire prep! You can call him and he will tell you what you need depending on what track you race at and the conditions of it. You won’t be sliding around, kart will stick and go! No breaks needed.
@slumpi62394 жыл бұрын
Also prepping the inside of your tires as well would help the kart tremendously
@strokerace14bp4 жыл бұрын
1st off. Great job brother. Looked very competitive. I'll say this,that new powerplant has helped your momentum game 100%. When u do have 2 crack the throttle,the cart looked liked it gained and carried more speed once u were back in the throttle vs the old engine. U can see how much more competitive the cart was in traffic. Great job! And give Mr Dave's granddaughter a raise,that girl was working! On a sidenote,maybe I've missed it in other videos,how did u and Mr Dave get teamed up??
@nashguy2074 жыл бұрын

@Joiner10564 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. You're definitely right about the new engine. It's quite a bit faster than what we were running. Capps Racing Engines in Jacksonville is where we had it done... Yes, Ava is a lot of help. I'm glad she doesn't mind tagging along. Mr. Dave saw the video from my first go-kart race and thought I could use some help, so he just showed up the next week and started helping. He's been a huge part of my racing ever since. I'm blessed to have him helping me out.

@shawnkirk10824 жыл бұрын
Most important thing in dirt karting, TIRES/PREP. Thats 75%+- of your speed. Also now your getting kart more competitive. Be ready on starts dont leave any gaps. More aggressive on starts. You've got a fast kart so dont be so aggressive during race. Your karts fast so you can wait n pass when it's right. Need 3-4 sets of tires with a durometer range of 35-50 pts. To cover all track conditions.
