Should God’s people have a surname? Should God’s people claim LEGAL TITLE? Should God’s people identify has anything other than Christ alone using given name only? Now that you are a new creation in Christ and you have identified Him, He now identifies you. Is this New Testament verification echoing Job? “Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:16-17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Here Christ is dropping the surname once Simon identifies Him.
