Our Initial Reaction to Wildcat's Revenge! Hersheypark's Newest Roller Coaster Coming in 2023

Earlier today Hersheypark announced their latest and greatest roller coaster creation would be from Rocky Mountain Construction as a steel hybrid conversion of their Wildcat wooden coaster! This new ride will stand 140 feet tall, reach speeds of 62 mph, and feature 4 inversions!

The addition of RMC’ing Wildcat to Wildcat’s Revenge makes Hershey a top tier park for coasters. I also think that with Wildcat’s Revenge, guests would flock to that side of the park for the new ride and the other attractions. The times I’ve been to Hersheypark sections like the hollow or areas where stormrunner and Fahrenheit are, were crowded. From Wildcat and beyond, the crowds weren’t as bad so hopefully more love to the flat rides, the Ferris wheel, laff track, and Lightning Racer on that side as a new ride opens

As a Hersheypark regular and a growing coaster enthusiast, I am so hyped for this thing!!! An RMC at my home park is just gonna be amazing!!! With Skyrush being my #1 in the park I wonder where this will fall, possibly 1 or 2 for me. Can’t wait to see your analysis on it and your review when we all eventually get to ride it!!!

I’m so happy. This will be the closest RMC to me at a little under 2 hours away. I can’t WAIT to see how this stands on the hill from the parking lot. You know that forced perspective made the original look taller so THIS will look gigantic from far away. Especially at night, if standing around Laff or Faren.

I'm really excited and I definitely agree that it probably wont be one of the best or most intense RMC's, but that's also okay. My boyfriend loves Iron Rattler but he will not get on Skyrush with me because it literally tries to kill you (which I love). This looks like something we both can enjoy together.

Iron Rattler is my favorite coaster of all, mostly because of my great history with it, but I also love that it is so universally pleasing. It is strong and aggressive without going too far (for some people). I love the craziest coasters, but rides like Iron Rattler, I can ride over and over nonstop. I basically got to do that on a 1-hour ERT session. I think that Wildcat's Revenge will be another universally pleasing coaster.

I recently went to Hershey Park and saw that they were announced it on November 2nd and my friend told me that's not what 11.2 means. So today I messaged him I told you so, also I finally wrote skyrush in the front and it was actually nice.

Also good observation about not being an airtime focused ride. The park already has canned ammonium and sky rush so they don’t really need another air time machine. This is going to be an awesome twister hybrid layout and it looks like it’s going to deliver on the sense of speed despite it not being the fastest RMC. One criticism I have of twisted colossus after riding Goliath a great America, I know nobody makes comparisons between those two and people really don’t give much attention to Goliath, but there really is an absence of sense of speed and twisted colossus and there’s an aggressive nature to the layout with the laterals and negatives. This ride looks like it’s going to capture a more graceful speed focused experience and deliver a sense of flight.

Hershey park was my first job and I grew up going all the time. I just hate how many hills there are to walk through the park lol. Also, it tends to get so crowded and not really have any crowd eaters.

i am worried about the unload station cus hershey is very good with loose articles. besides candymonium practically changing its rules every year, every other ride has on station bins/shelves. i hope they allow people to walk down to the load station where they put their stuff. beyond that, this is truly amazing

Okay, so a few thoughts: 1) I agree with the best coaster lineup. Yes, I do think that some parks (Cedar Point, Kings Dominion) have a better top-2, Carowinds has a better top 3, BUT I'd say there are 6 top-tier coasters at Hershey now, which is insane, so I think top-to-bottom, they'll have the best lineup 2) I was hesitant about the name at first... Then remembered the "It's Wildcat time in 3, 2, 1" announcement featuring the ride op who passed away... They could still use that dispatch clip as a tribute to him with a name like "Wildcat's Revenge", and it would be awesome if they kept it! 3) PLEASE add speakers on the final brake run that make the "seal" sound like Wildcat's brakes made. That would be hilarious

this new RMC could give hershey a lineup that rivals cedar point. hershey has everything. 2 hypers, one of which is a wing coaster, a launch coaster, an indoor spinner, a dueling woodie that counts as two credits, a very bad wild mouse, an invert, a classic woodie(comet), a looper, and a blitz coaster. they’ve got it all, and thats why i love having hershey as my home park.

As Hershey is my home park, I’m extremely excited !! Have to disagree though Sarah. I would’ve hated a name based on candy. Wildcat’s Revenge isn’t anything crazy, but it kind of seems like a name that would’ve came out in the 90s so I prefer that to making it another variation of “Twisted” or “Wicked” like other RMCs 😂

This really shows that Hershey cares, they really really care about making a good park for rides. Hershey could have went the route of candy in your face and some small rides, but no, they consistently go above and beyond to have some of the most unique and amazing coasters out there. And yes, this will be 100% better than Skyrush because I actually like the RMC Restraints and I know that RMC does better track profiling than what Skyrush has (Being flung to the side and then crushed at the bottom of the first drop is NOT fun, it's the coaster that made me hate laterals)

yes, the Underflip element will utilize the old wildcats first drop, and the station will harken back to the original 1923 Wild Cat.

There is 2 reasons why they kept the wild cat name One it was Hershey's 1st ever roller coaster and 2 it has a sentimental part for the park because the man who does the voice for the ride In the load station passed away and There was a major attachment to him and that roller coaster somehow somehow that's why I knew they were not going to change the name from wildcat The only thing I see a problem is we already got phantoms revenge in Pennsylvania and now we're having wildcats revenge

Its funny because its not steve or gwazi in scale, but its giving goliath at great america, zadra, gwazi, steve in its impression. Def going to he higher tier than twisted colossus. And you look at twisted timbers and understand that size does not matter with rmc. They all deliver. So this ride is definitely not a hyper coaster but it looks like it was engineered to ride like one and im really excited to see how it turns out.

Personally, I'd prefer if they gave Lightning Racer the RMC treatment purley from a historical perspective. But I understand why they did what they did. I just hope that the superstructure gets the Gawzi treatment (added Steel with the wood structure) than the Steel Vengeance route(constantly replacing wood everyday).
