Girl...your hubby is hillarious! So glad he decided to make a "special appearance" for you! These memories are so sweet and special...thank you so much for sharing with us😊My fiance and I are planning on a Sept 2022 wedding and thankfully, already have my Rabbi chosen to officiate for us. We are an interfaith couple (he's not Jewish) but he's so open to experiencing all the beautiful and meaningful rituals of our ceremony. One thing that really stood out was when you mentioned at the beginning: all couples are intermarried...

Awww I loved this so much, you guys are so cute and you were such lovely kallah. Actually when I was getting married and buying my wedding gown, the sales lady said to my mother “every kallah has a special chen don’t you think?”. This has always resonated with me since. Something that is very interesting for me having grown up conservative and now being orthodox is the gravitation towards more traditional parts of the wedding being included in conservative weddings. For example a Tisch , kabalas panim and circling the groom were not things I saw in conservative weddings (mostly my family’s) when I was very young, but as I grew more into my teens it became more common. Btw, my cousin and his wife who are both rabbis and very egalitarian had a double glass stomp at their chuppah. It made for an epic picture.

Coming back to this video. I've been happily engaged for over a year and was at odds of officially planning the big day since I'm not converted. My fiancé was born and raised Jewish as I've grown to love his family the past six years we've been together. We've come to terms that it's not necessary for me to convert as we are neither religious. Anything Jewish we observed together has always been based on the sake of tradition. So we plan to have a secular wedding instead, but still make room for Jewish traditions fused with Filipino traditions (my background). It's a matter of finding a rabbi who can officiate us under those terms, likely someone reform. Thank you for sharing your story. Your husband is hilarious! He reminds me of my fiancé whose attitude has always been "You plan it out, I just show up" lol

I didn’t know that at an orthodox wedding, the bride could wear a strapless gown. The ketubah is a contract-pure and simple. It is what the groom and his family promise the bride and her family in case the groom cannot or will not fulfill the terms of the contract. The bride need promise nothing. Traditionally, she doesn’t have to sign. It is the groom, the rabbi and two adult Jewish males of his choosing. Your ketubah was a modern one. To seal the contract, the groom must give the bride something of value. In most cases that is the ring. Your wedding was beautiful.

So interesting hearing your thoughts on the traditions and what you liked and what you didn't. When we got married in July I researched pretty much all traditions so I could decide. Our assistant registrar was very traditional and didn't like that I wore a pink dress and that I was pregnant so just to annoy her I walked down on the "wrong" side because how dare she make comment! I told her if she was a traditionalist she was more than welcome to do all those things at her own wedding 🙄 thankfully the actual registrar was lovely and she led the ceremony so all was fine. The assistant also shouted at my mum to sit down at the start

A ketubah is not about “how much a woman is worth” it is about how much she is bringing into the marriage and how much the husband pledges to give her in a case of divorce so that the husband thinks twice before a husband just ends the marriage on a whim.

I do believe a jewish wedding is a holy wedding. But, what if, your wedding was performed in a Christian Circle. Does that make those marriages as Non-Holy like, or to say Non-Biblical?

Thank you for sharing, this was so interesting 😍🙌 Your husband seems so nice and funny 😊 I most say that your dress was so beautiful and you was stunning on your day 😍😍 I have a question about the food in weddings: do you skip dairy products or meat products, or do you have some special way to do things, with enough hours between and everything else to make it kosher? I don’t know if there is something special you have to eat on your wedding, like on some other Jewish holidays and Sabbath 🤔 I have seen your videos about different Jewish holidays and the series here on KZbin on Hasidic Jews, where they say some about the food too. I just find it interesting, and I have been a subscriber of you for years 😊 I am Christian myself 😊 Love form Johanne, Norway 💕

It’s so interesting to hear your story! Sephardi weddings are different tho ! Of course this all depends on religious observance, and if you are reform , conservative, or orthodox. Can you explain how you identify as conservative.? What would be considered reform for you? I am Jewish myself just asking your experience

I would love to attend a Sephardi wedding!! I'm Conservative because I go to a conservative synagogue and identity with their values and beliefs.

I do read Hebrew. The verbiage is basically about supporting the wife and how much she would be given in the event of divorce . If it’s a second marriage then the support is less. But it’s not about the “ worth” of the bride

I love this channel. I am Gentile, but have a very Judaic approach in my faith, and a little family history. Mazel Tov and Shalom to you and yours.

You both look so young, happy, and beautiful in these videos. I adore the skirt of your wedding gown. Was it handmade by someone or did you design it? I know "The Red Tent," "The Boston Girl," and "Saying Kaddish." I love the design of the chuppah that looked a bit like a keyhole into the new life and a bit like a heart-shape. So how many donkeys did he get and have they been well-trained to go fetch and deliver supplies during the pandemic lockdowns? Inexpensive should not mean unusable, but merely of less costly materials with less complex skills employed in the making. It makes sense to do things as they make sense or have meaning to you if you know they do not demean maleness or femaleness nor the roles people take on in a marriage. Your husband seems to remember more about your wedding than most men do.

I've never been to a Jewish wedding, so it's very cool to see video from yours. Andrew is an adorable mensch - I can see why you would marry him!

@@MyJewishMommyLife And your dress is incredible. I repeat, Andrew is adorable - both of you are, and I get the impression that you laugh together often, something that is extremely important in a marriage. Would love to see more videos with him, maybe his perspective on how you met, or his journey in Judaism. (I find anyone's religious experience fascinating, no matter their faith).

Silly question, you said you had shabbat dinner. Would that have been on friday or saturday? Was the actual wedding after shabbat saturday evening, or does it matter since it is a wedding?
