It's just about future planning. Like when the villain in a James Bond movie says he's "5 steps ahead of you", well, that's sorta the idea to go for. One plans a move, hopes to predict what your opponent will do, and then this allows you to push your opponent to do what you want him to do. But then again, like the video shows, sometimes predicting goes awry, and then one has to come up with a new strategy on the fly. So the lesson here is: if you're good at thinking ahead, great! Now hope that your opponent is as predictable as you think they are.

Challenge idea: No stone left unturned The wedding ring that your king gave to the queen is missing. You suspect that your enemy may have hidden to create chaos in your ranks. Your goal if you choose to take it is to scour through the battlefield and find the ring. At least one of your pieces (or pawns) must move to every tile on the chessboard.

I think a hunt for the ring like that could be pretty interesting as long as 1. You mean that every tile must be searched by any chess piece on your side (ei: not one piece searching every tile on it's own) 2. If the extra movement that non-pawns or kings can do (Knight's L, Queen crossing however many tiles, etc) counts as searching all those tiles.
