Behold my entire strategy in my Chess Club. I knew enough about chess to be better than the average player at my school and on my team, however I was still absolutely trash compared to the higher ups on the ladder. So I basically developed a strategy that is so mind game heavy that the opponent (At other schools and the like) had no idea what the heck I was doing. I still held around a 50% win rate, probably less, but it was so entertaining to watch.

It's just about future planning. Like when the villain in a James Bond movie says he's "5 steps ahead of you", well, that's sorta the idea to go for. One plans a move, hopes to predict what your opponent will do, and then this allows you to push your opponent to do what you want him to do. But then again, like the video shows, sometimes predicting goes awry, and then one has to come up with a new strategy on the fly. So the lesson here is: if you're good at thinking ahead, great! Now hope that your opponent is as predictable as you think they are.

Challenge idea: No stone left unturned The wedding ring that your king gave to the queen is missing. You suspect that your enemy may have hidden to create chaos in your ranks. I think a hunt for the ring like that could be pretty interesting as long as 1. You mean that every tile must be searched by any chess piece on your side (ei: not one piece searching every tile on it's own) 2. If the extra movement that non-pawns or kings can do (Knight's L, Queen crossing however many tiles, etc) counts as searching all those tiles.

But rooks work like the bishops but for the opposite squares, and this person describes how the rooks move even though they say “knight”, so contextually that’s what this person likely meant.

Warrior King - Other than to avoid cm, pawns can only move if adjacent to the king or the king is either on the same horizontal row or on a row ahead of them. Crusade - Other than to avoid cm, you may only use pawns, knights and bishops until the opponent's knights and bishops are gone. Castle Siege - Other than to avoid getting checked, you may only take out pawns and rooks until the rooks are gone. Revolt - You may not move any pawns other than to avoid a cm. Equal Rights - The queen can only move one square. Zealotry - Other than to avoid cm, when a bishop can take another piece, they have to. Chivalry - You may not take the queen with a knight, and you must not let your queen be taken by a knight.

100 rated chess but our engineers want to build a bridge. The rooks must be 'connected' (stay on the same rank or file without any pieces in between them) by move 6 and never disconnect.

@groundedgaming
@groundedgaming 2 жыл бұрын
@@rickemmers9 now that i think about it... you can only clear the last rank by move 8, ignoring the enemy's piece completely. Move 1 pushes king pawn. bishop gets out on move 2. Knight on move 3. castle on move 4. queen pawn out on 6. queen bishop out by MOVE 7. Queen knight away on MOVE 8. Queen out on move 9. Rooks finally connected. This challenge does not work.

@@groundedgaming so you have to push your a and h pawns, and connect the rooks in 3rd or 6th rank. It said you have to get them connected by move 6. Theres plenty of time for that
