Everyone coming and commenting that arjun was gaining ELO because he was playing 2600s as if they know anything about chess. This is not classical you arm chair experts. Arjun is near 2700 in Rapid, the Elo difference as you can see on the side is more than 100. Try to look at what is happening before giving dumb opinions.

Don't forget that Magnus's highest classical rating is 2882, yes he's 2831 now but that's because he's not really interested by ratings nowadays, if he was to really focus on his classical rating no doubt he will be at least 2860+, but that would be exhausting for him without much of a reward which is why he's not going for it

Lol no. It doesn't work like that. He can't be 2860 if there are no 2800 players to play against. And as Magnus himself said, the FIDE ratings have deflated in recent years so today's 2830 is more like 2850 from a few years back

When he reached 2882 he was motivated by his goal of reaching 3000 but slowly he realised it's impossible so now he doesn't care much about ratings as long as he has a decent gap with the number 2.

Because after Kb1 you can’t recapture on d5 with the bishop due to Rc1 winning the rook on c8, so you’d have to recapture with the pawn which is bad for black.

at 3:24 , the logical and the most obvious move is f3 which arjun was supposed to play. reason he didnt play it he wanted imbalances in the position so that he could out calculate magnus. intuition triumphs over intellect in shorter time controls. man the reason im most disappointed by is tomorrow magnus will beat nodirbek and it'd all be over... no competition whatsoever... prediction : magnus wins the blitz section with 2 points lead ;)

Yup when I said Arjun is good all other Indian players r great too .But during the Olympiad just after speed chess championship where magnus won ,I commented that magnus is not taking Olympiad seriously when magnus lost 😂😂😂. And then I was jumped by all those salty Indian kids 😂😂😂. And I gave them the proper reasons that magnus team is not that good except for him and tari .He has no prep at all which is required for classical .And he is most likely not even willing to play and was just coming after the speed chess championship so not in right state of mind.Also he willingly left the world champion status becoz he doesn't like all classical formats . And as u expect from Indian kids they started arguing abt it 😂😂😂.Like magnus is noone 😂😂😂

We need to give time to these youngsters, they need to perform at top level at least for few years before anyone talks about comparisons.
