This is the best OLP song period. Recording it with Elvin Jones must’ve been incredible and an incredible honour. Raine (Michael lol) sounds like shit in this live performance. His vocals are sick on the albums though, especially this song, and, of course, Superman’s Dead.

Couldn't agree more my man. Such a disappointment to see what's happened to them since '01.

Its funny you say that. All For You was actually a song written while Mike turner was still in the band. Not Enough is probably the only really heavy and dark song they've written since the new guitarist joined.

I think the trouble was the mike problems...and not to mention he's shivering in the cold...who's bright idea was it for an outdoor concert in the freezing cold?!

The producers pulled them in a different direction and the band was about to break up after HPT - they ended up staying together and firing the last producer. Raine is now the sole producer of their next album, and says they've gone back to the music like on the Naveed album.

Raine is really good live. If you like him on the album, you'll be pleasantly surprised to hear him live. he goes crazy! His intensity is very high. I've seen OLP perform twice live and Raine alone performing the Hunter's Lullaby. I'm not a fan boy, he's simply a great performer.

i don't understand how you go from great albums like happiness..., clumsy and spiritual machines to crap like gravity and healthy in paranoid times. i miss mike!!
@Alorahbeth15 жыл бұрын
well, i never saw them live yet (i may get to this summer, and i dont know if you did or not so i may just end up sounding like an idiot) but from my experense recordings of live performances never do the bands justice unless it is a small room, like a private party or bar.

I'm pretty sure they fired their whole on stage staff after this performance. Two different mics going dead during the same song is a rare occurence :S n yea i lawled my ass off when he tossed the mic on stage too.

Yea, I'm sure Gravity had a relatively big audience, but to the general OLP fan base it was a downhill drastic change from their earlier work. They went from innovative thought provoking music to generic modern pop rock in one fail swoop and it was a bit disappointing for the hard core fans.

I listened to Gravity enough to know every lyric of every song. Same with every OLP album. I didn't hate it. It just wasn't nearly as good as their earlier albums.

it was an alright album IMO their best ones were before gravity.

This isn't the first youtube vid of theirs that you've said that on. If you don't like them anymore because of Raine then why are you looking up so many of their vids? Just to slander them?

jeremy is the drummer, how can you compare him to mike. i think you're talking about steve. and btw mike's writing was much better than what OLP have now. gravity was terrible.

Yea,, im sorry. This was a terrible live. Its not really raines fault though.. How many microphones does he need before it works?

These guys were my favorite band for a long time until Gravity came out. It was ok, but it seemed too polished and predictable. It seemed designed to please a more general audience. Most of it was very pop-ish. I am looking forward to their next album though. They are supposedly going back to their roots.
@lpfvr616 жыл бұрын
not only can jeremy play better than mike but he also writes better how can you say gravity wasnt a good album?
