I'm a video engineer for live events and we "double stack" projectors all the time. (Aligning two projector together) It started out for brightness but now a days we do more of back up. We use a frid pattern to see all the points of the projection. I'm actually pretty fast at aligning projectors. While you can go side by side, you get better results over/under. And I just made it to the end. Looks like you've got some real projectors to play with!!! I can't wait, good stuff.

ill tell you what's going to change, ar is likely going to 100% replace screens, quest 3/vision pro/big screen beyond, they already show what's possible, meta shows off making the optics even thinner and we see see though oleds/microled becoming more common the projector will likely be taken over by a qr/position tracker and everyone can set it how they want. as long as you have line of sight, you could do a 60ghz signal and make it public rather than private (not directed at one device) at least this is how I see it and I cant be convinced of anything else.

If you ever get a chance to look inside an IP-based Outside Broadcast truck, you definitely should. Linus, you had f*cking HARD DRIVES in a BATH TUB in the early days. now you have dozens of packages, maybe hundreds, of sound insulation for the WAREHOUSE that LMG owns... 🤯 I hope you feel really proud and grateful for your amazing success and hard work! 🥰
@bulletpointmediadotnet
@bulletpointmediadotnet 10 ай бұрын
I am fairly positive even with expansion in recent years that LMG doesn't own the buildings. Vancouver real estate probably isn't their forte. Just like all their offices I would bet this is leased and built to suit. I suppose they could have bought the buildings, given that he and Yvonne are the sole shareholders of LMG and it seems to be valued at ~90 million, but in commercial real estate it's much more common for a larger company to own and manage the buildings and tenants to lease them rather than someone to own and operate them. EDIT: Reading some Reddit threads it seems that those buildings WERE purchased, although I'd still be surprised if LMG proper were getting into the ownership of the buildings and this wasn't some kind of bank deal with some other stakeholders and another company holding the notes. Owning that kind of property still doesn't seem like it would be in their wheelhouse.

Great editing especially with the transitions, really interesting content (love the upcoming new facilities), and even the sponsor spot is actually integrated into the video. Not to be too technical but the minimum bend radius for fiber is partially the strain, but also a lot is due to the total internal reflection needed to keep the signal in the fiber. A smaller radius will increase the angle the light hits the wall of fiber. If the angle is large enough then much of the light will leave the fiber.
@Lizlodude
@Lizlodude 10 ай бұрын
I assume they will have the radius set properly in the installation, just the armor helps while installing to avoid trying to get it past a joist or something and *snap* oops there goes 300' of fiber
@spazoq
@spazoq 10 ай бұрын
There is a device used in the fiber business called a "Fiber Identifier" that puts a little bend in the fiber to let the light leave the fiber so you can see if there's light on the fiber without breaking it. Also, if you have a device getting too much light you can actually wind the fiber a few times around a pencil and it will attenuate the light.

Back before Covid I used to organize couch gaming (local versus) events here in Estonia, at one venue we had a 4K60hz massive projector for use that was able to project about 400" big screen (with excellent brightness and detail levels, it was industrial-grade projector). We played tournaments like Mortal Kombat X on it and chilled on the streets of Forza Horizon 4. It was excellent. You could go over 20 meters away from the screen and PC and the controller would still have connection to the entire setup without input lag. It felt like I was in a cinema. We did total of two 3-day events in that venue, had a blast.

Consider hiring the folks at the Canadian-based company Lighthouse Immersive. These are the guys behind the full projection mapped buildings where Disney had its 100th year anniversary of a custom 360 degree movie theater. All four walls were effectively used as more than a single projection surface. Plus there were Lidar sensors to use with the overhead 4K laser projectors allowing the floor to have custom themed animations that appeared to be playing with the patrons by creating unique interactive animations. You might want to consider using a fog bubble machine that combines the two to create bubbles with fog "smoke" inside of them. When popped it is like little fluffy clouds are released. Queue music from the Orb, "Little Fluffy Clouds".

6:18 Keep in mind the 100m limit on Ethernet runs. it's a pretty hard limit. I've ran into it for long runs between floors in offices and sometimes literally 1 foot of cable slack was the difference between full gigabit and no connection.

AV tech here, always try to stack projectors vertically. you had to lens shift a ton which made the picture sit in the side of the lens and bended the picture just enough to introduce the doubling effect. I did a job a couple weeks ago with 2 20k lumen projectors which looked awesome even with overcast daylight coming in.

Some buddies of mine have been playing CS in tourneys recently in Philly and NYC and it's got me wanting to goto a LAN again real bad. Had one back in high school we'd always hang at, inside a mall with a pizza parlor like 2 doors down. Had glowing artwork on the wall with ultraviolet lights and a "Hackers" vibe with a fridge fully-stocked with Bawls and penguin mints behind the counter. Live music on weekends and the mall would let the place stay open past mall hours because it had it's own exclusive side door outside. I'd honestly bet LAN centers pick up again since us Millennials are getting older and we will have the money to make it happen, and I think old-school Bars are getting kind of boring. If there were LAN centers with good food, good beer, live entertainment and events I think it'd be everything that would give us enough reason to crawl out of our home command centers and be social again.

4:12 the "pull cord" is not for pulling the fiber. Even in the diagram it's correctly labelled as ripcord. It's for splitting the jacket when you go to terminate or splice the fiber. Edit: 5:57 unless there are loads of bends/corners in the run you can just tape the new length of cable from a fresh box and pull it through using the old cable that's too short. But yes, the most expensive piece of material is always the one that's just too short.

converging 2 projectors gets you roughly 150% of the brightness of just one, so .5 brighter, and is diminishing returns from there, and yes without lens shift and at minimum corner correction it's not something you want to try because it'll never get good. that said, if you plan is to cast other games to the wall, and not game directly on it, you could look into blending several projectors across the wall to have as wide a canvas as you have wall and PiP in various streams and other content .
