Great multi purpose pad made with care and love. Hubby and i snip at each other when we work together because we are `so different. Love the man to death so our natter does not bother us. New side by side is wonderful and the dog`s `seemed to really enjoy it, they reminded me of little kid`s `sitting the the back while mom and dad take them for a drive but, the dog`s are quieter. lol

Portland cement is stronger for those gravelly spots , masonry cement is for laying block. When I use wet pour concrete with bag mix , I usually rounded up shovel of Portland to a bag of mix ,it makes a stronger cement

Question about land slippage. With all the changes in longer, harder rainfall patterns, are you concerned about that hillside slipping down? You show how much sand is on top of your mountain. Should the footings for the mini-cabin be reinforced? Or some type of retaining wall built behind the footings? Maybe even trenches to divert rainfall erosion away from mini-cabin and pole barn? Really like your episodes and projects!

It is definitely something I'm thinking about. I have been piling a bit of sand on the downward sides of the posts a bit. Being the cabin is small.....AND it is near the top of the hill....there shouldn't be any water build up flowing down

We have a small house 3 hours south near the big city. It is near family and friends and we own it free and clear. The amount of money we would gain from selling it and the minimal cost it is to keep it.....make it not worth selling at this point. We spend about 75% or more of our time here at the cabin. Couple weekends a month at the house.
