Our Last Shopping Trip Before Hannah is Born! ║ Large Family Shop with Me │ March 2018

This month Tom and I are using our date night to do our monthly shopping trip again since I get a bit worn out. (I'm 38 weeks pregnant!) First, we eat dinner at Applebee's.. thank you, Susan Bailey, for the gift card! Then I have to rest a bit before shopping; I was so full from eating. We get some of our regular monthly Walmart purchases (we do most of our grocery shopping on a weekly basis at our local grocery store), we pick up a new blanket on clearance for our bed and we pick up a few freezer meals for after Hannah arrives. We spent $542 in the store and we had to order an additional $50 worth of items that we couldn't find while we were shopping.

Hi Jessica A week ago the shopping list was in my recommendations & always up for something new, so I watched. Was devastated when I figured out Andrea was gone. I am a former Educator who left teaching for the corporate world. With all that goes wrong in the public & private school system, shelter your children and homeschool. We found our shower curtain at Target, about 6 years ago. It's a cotton one, so I just throw it in the wash every other week. We buy cheap clear curtain liners in bulk, for like .89 a piece and change those out once every 2 months.

Now, isn't something like that pink nightie how Miss Hannah came to be? LOL I like that new blanket! Very springy color. I have a tendency to hoard blankets. I think it's because growing up, there never seemed to be enough to keep warm in the winter. We lived in an old farmhouse without direct heat to the upstairs. The wood furnace in the basement had one large vent in the arch between the living and dining rooms and another vent in the small hall between two bedrooms and the bath. The two upstairs bedrooms had floor vents and in order for it to be comfortably warm up there, the furnace was on meg blast and it would be too hot downstairs. There was no winning. I remember many winter mornings wearing my blanket downstairs to gather around the vent and dressing under my blanket. For two beds in my house, I think I must own at least 15 blankets, comforters and quilts (not counting the throws on the sofa). eeks! Looks bad writing it down. lol

That's a little bit how this house was when we bought it. It had two heat vents right next to each other for the entire upstairs. If you closed the bedroom doors, they'd start getting cold very quickly. There was one vent in the basement (which was completely unfinished then.) During our first year here, we put a family room down there (it's now Tom's office) and when we wanted to use it we'd have to turn the heat way up, but then the upstairs would be sweltering. In preparation for putting in the boys' room, we had a new furnace installed in the attic to make space in the basement. Now every room has it's own vent in the ceiling, plus we've got central air conditioning, too, and it feels like we're a bit spoiled!

IMPRESSIVE cart stacking....I was sure another cart would of been needed! ;) I also am VERY AMAZED that all that was a little over 500....AWESOME! I spend 350 usually, on food and misc items and our kids are GROWN!! Just my husband and I in our home..of course I buy most of my pantry and freezer items at the same time-for usually a couple weeks at a time. Love the shopping trip. I miss seeing all the children. I have to say this when Eden becomes a teenager Andrea your shopping days will be with her. I am from a family of nine I had three older brothers the family order was like yours. I truly miss my mother we did everything together. Eden and you will be thicker then theives. That's how my mom and I were, too, before she died. Next to Tom, she was my best friend. Hardly a day passed that we didn't spend time together. One of the hardest things after she died was not hearing her pull up in my driveway anymore. Eden was 3 months old when mom died. When Eden was born, she said, "You've just given birth to your best friend."
