I swear to the lord, I am totally inspired by Kyuho's mom. Her never give up attitude and getting her Ph.D. when she's in her later years. It gives me comfort knowing that if I can't get my masters or Ph.D. now, I can always get it later on and only get it when I know what I truly want.

Kyuho's face with the apple crisp. That was adorable. Apple crisp and pie are my favorites. I wish I could send you come honeycrisp apples. My great uncle was actually on the crew that created honeycrisp apples at the University of Minnesota. I could literally send you the an apple of the original trees! Enjoy! I could see apple crisp becoming a huge thing in Korea with just this video.

It may take a few years to see fruit but at least you would have a little bit of home there. I would be happy to send some your way. Customs would be my only worry?

Your Apple Crisp looked so good Sarah! I loved Kyuho's reaction & I could tell while you were talking about it, he was sitting there eager to taste it! In Australia we call it 'Apple Crumble' & although there are variants in ingredients, it's basically made the same (apple on bottom & crisp/crumble on top. I also make it with rhubarb sometimes too. Such a yummy wintery comfort dessert. I think you've just inspired me to make it for my family tonight! I also enjoy watching & listening to Kyuho's Mum cooking traditional Korean food. Her cooking looks amazing! You guys are so wonderful at caring for the stray kitties & it's obvious they love/trust you - especially if they're happy to hang out with you without being fed :)

Ok, so now I have to go buy apples and make some apple crisp. 🤪 That looked really good. Sarah, I don’t know how you can survive without a regular size oven. That is hands-down the one thing I would miss the most. Do some houses have western style ovens? Made me happy watching you all insulate the cat beds. Those are some well-fed, happy looking cats. 😻

I miss it soooo much!! Koreans really don’t use ovens that much, so I’ve only known one person whose apartment has one or is built in a way where you can buy one and install it :(

I live in MN USA, and apple crisp is my fave too. My b'day is in September, and we had a small apple orchard on the back side of the garden.....I prefer crisp or cake for my b'day to this day......of course I would never turn down a piece of cake if offered.

@@2hearts1seoul I had a recommendation regarding the apple crumble. If you add a dash of ginger powder and a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the apples, the flavours mix well with the juice that the apples release when they bake. Just a dash of ginger powder is enough to spice the whole up. Apple crumble is one of my favourite comfort foods, especially when it gets cold and damp as it is right now in Paris. (Love your vlogs, they make me miss Seoul. Hope to come back soon !) Have a good week you three ! :D

That apple crisp looked amazing, Sarah! We have something similar in the UK. 'Apple crumble' which is made with cinnamon, a crumb topping (of flour, sugar & butter) and of course the apples! But in the UK we use a British variety known as Bramley apples which are quite sour when uncooked. But the taste is perfect once they've been cooked with some sugar! Quite difficult to find outside of the UK though (But thank god that there's a orchard here in Japan that grows them lol) We also compliment apple crumble with custard (hot or cold) instead of ice cream.

5:24 Midnight Diner is one of my favorite series. I watched it before it was licensed with Netflix. I remember there are actually 5 seasons of it. It's either season 4 or 5 the Yakuza boss and the kid who are from the same city, was a good side story since they pop up in a few episodes. And one episode where the customer goes to Korea looking for an ex hostess. Solitary Gourmet is another good series too, the original Japanese and Taiwan versions had cross over episode.

I wish I could see the cats inside! I did this once but with a box inside a plastic storage box and the bubble wrap! Have you seen them in there before?
