Hey Matt. As I've told you, she would eventually come to life (not that you didn't know already). The love, effort, friendship and willing your crew invested on the project couldn't mean nothing but success. Even your (director of photography) Logan was quite emotional when he saw her crank up easily with 2 or 3 engine turns. He seems to be a sweet kid. Almost apologizing for (eventually) shaking the camera due to cold. So, long story short, congrats on everyone of you. Keep it rolling, say Hi Don and as usual, happy landings from Portugal.

FANTASTIC!!! That is some project! Young lad thinks it's cold, y'all need to come to Canada, then you'll know it's cold! We often need to warm up our engine with a big pipe off the truck exhaust. Take your time, do it right and you'll be flying soon.

@@mattmansell3486 I also build and fly large scale RC models. Our club has a winter shelter and a heater so we can warm up between flights. flying with skis on snow is a hoot!

In the early 80's I had the seat roll back twice in a 152 during touch and goes. Luckily my arm was long enough to push the nose forward enough to get leveled off and get the seat latched again, I really rocked and made sure the seat was latched after that. In a 150, 152 you could recover, If It happened in the 172 the seat goes back a lot further and would not be able to save yourself.

I never thought about that. I've have very little time in a 172 and a 175 but the tracks are really long. I'd have to reach with my foot if that happened

Sweet! Lots of work but worth it! I've seen a couple of seat limiters, that style and last one I dealt with was a little catch latch you had to flip like a spring loaded hook. It worked. Cessna still has an active campaign on an inertia belt limiter for several planes that they would provide as well. Basically a cable operated seat belt. Can't wait to see you flying!

From an old retired USAF Flight Engineer and Maintenance Phase Dock Troop glad you found what was causing the flaps to stick open. Great news Matt! I recognize the sound of that sweet engine and the Continental Gold paint. I own a 150M and wouldn't bother with the seat track stop thingy unless you think you'll use the tie down loop. Seems kind of gimmicky to me. Keep up the good work. I've got a C90-12f that has an oil pressure problem. What did you do to fix yours?

We didn't really find anything. On the reassembly we did pack the pump with Vaseline which I think helps get in going. If your not going to disassemble it I would recommend checking and cleaning the pressure relief valve then pressurize through the oil gallery on the front of the case. I didn't think about this till afterwards but when you pressurize the gallery slowly rotate the prop backwards to allow oil to back flow into the pump. Good luck.
